The lesser bowl games don't even start until mid-December. Tennessee cannot afford to drag it's feet until sometime in January. No reason to panic yet. If Dave Hart is waiting until January to name a HC, we will start off the year already behind the eight ball. If Dave Hart doesn't say something positive and specific, we'll just make something up. Rumors tend to cloud the whole issue. If Dave tells the fans exactly where we stand in the process of hiring a HC, the rumors will all be neutralized. For example, if he actually says that he'll announce on Friday, December 14th, I think we'll be a little less apprehensive about the selection. By the way, on Jon Gruden's show today at lunchtime, he was saying that he HAD NOT been contacted by Tennessee officials. However, even if he had been contacted by Tennessee officials, I wouldn't expect him to say so on his ESPN show. After all, he's still an employee of ESPN and ESPN would be within it's rights to fire Jon, if they knew that he was looking for another job to the point that he had been talking contracts etc.
