We don't really know how this is going to work out yet either. Kiffin might be like Spurrier and coach his QBs himself. A lot of unknowns right now.

I have considered that also, but Kiffin is known more as a WR coach/developer than he is a QB guru. What about this guy at Oakland we are rumored to be going after? What is his track record?

Kelly Skipper? He has held titles of TE coach, RB coach, Return Specialist, Recruiting Coordinator, and Offensive Coordinator in his previous coaching gigs. No QB coach experience.

Reaves coaching the QB's, Kiffin coaching the WR's/OC, Skipper as RB coach/Co-OC, Hugh Freeze as TE coach would work for me. Who would be the O-Line coach though??

Kiffin WAS starting to mold (hehe) Russell into a QB at Oakland. Russell even stated taht he missed Kiffin and their one on ones once he left. Since then, Russell has fallen apart.

Let's wait and see. This is pretty exciting for UT!

It will be interesting to see the new staff and see if they can hold together the 09 recruiting class and possibly rebuilt it

not good, with the QB's we have they need a quality coach

Huh? You obviously missed the way Crompton played yesterday. He's going to have a hell of a senior year wit the improvement he made.

He said on the post-game show last night that he's sore but he will be alright. He's going to rest today and be ready to get back to work tomorrow.

Kiffin is the only coach that will be on staff with QB experience. That tells me he would most likely be the one to work with QB's unless he hires someone with experience for that position.

Kiffin is a WR developer. Reaves will be the QB coach. :hi:

Our staff may be great recruiting wise, but can they realistically snatch athletes out of Florida and Texas from the hands of Meyer and Brown?

I read the article which said he is Qb coach and recruiter. I did read the thread and I think the article carries more merit than a posters opinion.

I beg to differ. There are a couple of posters on here whose opinion I value greater than sports opinionist. Several really know their stuff. The problem is weeding through the idiots.

After two seasons assisting Head Coach Steve Spurrier in coaching the Gamecock quarterbacks he was handed the full-time quarterback coaching duties in the spring of 2007.

In addition, Reaves was given the duties of recruiting coordinator in February 2006. He solidified his reputation as one of the top young recruiters in college football when the 2007 Gamecock signees formed a consensus top-10 class and were regarded as the most highly touted recruiting class in school history. Following the February signing day, he was selected as one of the top 25 recruiters in the country by Rivals.com.

In 2007, the Gamecocks threw for over 3,000 yards and averaged 258.2 yards per game through the air with senior Blake Mitchell and redshirt freshman Chris Smelley sharing time under center.

In 2006, the USC quarterbacks, primarily Blake Mitchell and Syvelle Newton, combined to throw for 3,259 yards, an average of 250.7 yards per game.

In 2005, Reaves assisted with the development of quarterback Blake Mitchell, who threw for 2,370 yards, the seventh-highest single season total in school history.

Funny I still see Spurrier in the ear of the QB's on the sideline

I'm not doubting his recruiting ability, I just think his role in QB coaching takes a back seat to Spurriers development of the QB's

I don't think we can judge the QB development just by USCe. I mean his 2nd string QB said he didn't want to play anymore since he's been hit so much. Only so much you can do with guys like that
