DB Recruiting Board....

The staff likes Brewer. I don't know how much time he's got so far. But they think he's gonna be good.l

I know, but we really haven't seen him at all, which I know it's been a while since he played football, but still, a little concern.

a little concern? even saying that much is a huge overstatement. the guy plays every special teams and is acclimating himself back to football. you should expect no more from him than you would a true freshman.

Hubbs & Fortenberry are saying the staff has King & Thomas 1-2 on the recruiting board. They said the staff fell in love with Thomas' speed.

Walls & Martin Alike?

I disagree.
Walls is versatile and can play some CB.

Martin is alot closer to OLB than a FS (think Thomas Davis from UGA a cple yrs back)

I was saying the same thing, play him some at CB, then move Meline back to WR

How does it end up playing out? Right now we are in a huge logjam.

Commited:
4* Pat Martin
3* Brian Randolph
3* Justin Coleman

Depending On ACT:
4* Eddrick Loften
3* Marcques Dixon

Recruiting:
4* Christion Jones: In Final 2 along with Alabama, yet to visit campus.
4* Blake Countess: At one point lead, in his top 3
4* Avery Walls: At one point lead & thought a commitment was coming soon.
3* Derek King: Lead at this point, & will announce after visits.
3* Tino Thomas: Lead at this point, assumed to be commiting next time on campus
3* Kadetrix Marcus: In final 2 along with South Carolina, has visited twice. Came to the Florida game with mother.

I'm glad I'm not on the staff & have to figure this out, but how do you guys see this playing out? IMO we take 2 more at the most. King is the highest on the staffs board.

man if i'm remembering correctly back during the summer dooley said something like the staff would like to sign 3 Corners and 3 Safeties so we would have plenty of depth at the secondary. so i guess just look at who we have so far and split them up by positions and then look at who else is on the board to get an idea of who we will be going after. if what i said about 3 and 3 is correct then we will go after 1 more safety and 2 more CBs. then u must consider that they all might not qualify and some might jump ship on NSD and sign else where. they may get more than we need then see how it shakes out later on just to be on the safe side.

Totally agreee, glad somebody see's what I see in this kid. See more than I see in Thomas IMO

agreed.... i honestly believe that Walls will end up being an excellent SEC safety with that rare blend of size, speed, head hunter mentality and athletic ability. Has anyone else watched the youtube vids on Brian Randolph? he seems like a perfect ball hawking safety and has excellent athletic ability when he gets the ball in his hands. i was very impressed by him, was anyone else? i was also impressed by pat martin as well.

I doubt Walls will be doing much in the SEC. No SEC schools are really in it for him besides us and he is down our board.

you have a link where they said that?

i can't find it.

Sorry just got back on the PC, I'm looking for that right now. I started a new thread asking them about it, I could have swore that they said it but I could be wrong. I do know that PF said the staff loves Thomas' speed.

They will be great too, I just really like walls. I think he is going to be a monster wherever he goes.

I agree. Walls is a very good player -- head and shoulders above Tino in my opinion. I believe that Chris Jones is better than Tino also.

Of course to date, no one has offered me a lot of money to make that type of decision, so I will continue to trust our coaches.

Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina and us are who scout shows him as having offers from. The SEC teams rivals shows are us, South Carolina and Georgia. It isn't as many as i woulda guessed. When I said SEC safety I meant it like SEC caliber safety, i know i worded it bad lol. Do u think he has that type of potential tho?

the 2 long vids of him on youtube are the best ones to watch, i think he's only a sophomore or junior in them i can't remember it's been awhile since i watched them. he plays FS, SS, RB, WR, QB, KR and PR. you can tell that his team depends on him to win it for them but the kid is a total athlete. let me know what you think about him after u check out those vids.

He's averaged around 20 tackles a game so far this season. Seriously. LV or someone can give you the full run down on all of his stats but 20 tackles a game avg is impressive in itself.

Well we can mark Christion Jones & Avery Walls off that list, looks like were going to take King & Marcus or Thomas whichever commits first. I think Orta is a fallback option for those 2. Have'nt heard or read anything on Countess in a while, staff must have backed off.

Jones would've been a great get. I was on the Walls bandwagon for a long time but I'm not dieing over not getting him plus GT mentioned how stiff he was recently so I went and watched some of his camp vids on Rivals and he is unbelievably stiff. I thought it instantly but then watched Martin, Randolph and Marcus and I couldn't believe how stiff he was. I think he's a good player but yall should check out some camp vids if you have an account and you'll see.
