The "narrative" that a hiring freeze was to blame for the crash hasn't really taken hold yet. Trump is obviously anticipating that it will, and he made an effort to get out in front of it today with an attack of his own, when his focus should have been on the victims and their families. However, Trump will always put his political fortunes front and center. You don't find the narrative that a hiring freeze just days old resulted in this crash in the ballpark with Trump's idiotic comments today?
I think it's a matter of using a tragedy to promote a preferred policy. He did it in very, very poor taste. Point being the left often capitalizes on tragedy to support agendas. It's politics, that game is old and the Democrats are very well versed.

I doubt it, I think that's projection. I think he was capitalizing on tragedy....... In extremely poor taste. The "narrative" that a hiring freeze was to blame for the crash hasn't really taken hold yet. Somebody f’d up. The left is on a roll with the giddiness of Trump being in office for 8 days, while not acknowledging the lack of hired when numbers were down. Time and place to address the “DEI” sure, but nothing wrong with saying the FAA f’d up by not being properly staffed and jeopardizing lives.
Those past over applicants looking like a bad idea.
He was. But that doesn’t necessarily mean his point was invalid. Reports are They had an abnormal staffing at the airport that night, had one controller controlling helicopter and airplanes which is usually split between the 2. If that is a result of the shortage based on an idiotic quota and them turning away 1000 qualified controllers, then yes his point would be validIt's too early to say even that air traffic control made an error. They may have, certainly possible. Also possible that one of the pilots did. Or that both did. Or that all three made some error that contributed in some measure.
Honestly, I feel like most people here believe Trump was wrong to say what he did.
Whatever the case was ... I'm sure we can all agree, his only concern today should have been for the victims and their families, and getting a thorough investigation underway into the cause of the collision.I doubt it, I think that's projection. FAA had 19 on staff instead of the recommended 30 for that tower. When you’re operating at 63% it’s amazing more events haven’t happened. As your focus is on Trump, stay focused on the things that could have been prevented. It's too early to say even that air traffic control made an error. They may have, certainly possible. Faa folks had new job offers rescinded yesterday all over and at all levels. There was a ton of panic in the agency. Just today we got notice from HR who was safe (atc was one job series). You don't find the narrative that a hiring freeze just days old resulted in this crash in the ballpark with Trump's idiotic comments today?

Is he? You don't get trained to be a controller and work a position at DCA in 2 weeks. That would be great if possible..but it ain't. Hiring freeze just frustrated people getting promotions or trying to fill vacancies.Right. I'm agreeing that it's crazy. Trump is concerned that his hiring freeze will be blamed for a personnel shortage in the air traffic control tower at Reagan. When facing such things, Trump will always go on offense.
Most large faa facilities operate at less than 60%... thats why controllers have mandatory overtime at large facilitiesFAA had 19 on staff instead of the recommended 30 for that tower. Army probably didn't have it or turned it off. When army aviation is involved I tend to lean towards them messing up. I've seen some sh!t back in my military days that made me go wifi. Why wasn’t TCAS going absolutely apeshit and screaming at the pilots in both cockpits?
The Black Hawk very well may not have had it and apparently it doesn’t work well or if at all below 1000 ftArmy probably didn't have it or turned it off. When army aviation is involved I tend to lean towards them messing up. I've seen some sh!t back in my military days that made me go wifi.
Can't say for the jet. The ATC audio has an msaw alarm going off in the background..don't know if it was for those aircraft.
