Considering the ones he fired were also the ones trying to literally hire people with mental disabilities into this critical safety agency, I'd say he actually made things safer.

Frankly it's my preferred airport. And yes, the traffic is wild. It's easy to see this happening.

Ideally, they stop doing f***ing practice flights for helicopters out of such a congested airport. The lucky thing is that nothing crashed into one of the literally hundreds of buildings right next to the place.

IMO, again no insight whatsoever, but I bet the helicopter pilot has a visual on the wrong plane. ATC asked him if he saw the CRJ, he says yes, but it was the plane in front of him taking off, not the one coming in to land. So sad.

Yeah I don’t understand that. There are so many rural airports where they could do this. I would like someone to explain the rationale behind that decision.

Psychosis and a superiority complex. For many, I think the "rush" conspiracy theorists get from pushing the theories is the fantasy that they are smarter/know more than everybody else. To a person, everybody I know in real life who believes in them has a huge ego and has to be the smartest guy in the room.

Haven't looked into it in detail, but I saw someone mention that flights for VIPs leaving the Pentagon (and I guess training for those flights) take routes like this

No conspiracy. Army helo was asked if he had the American CRJ in sight. He responded in the affirmative. Then told by ATC to maintain visual separation. Onus is on the army helo at that point to stay clear of aircraft.

According to ADS-B, American CRJ was at 350ft. That’s not very high, so it tells me the American RJ was on short final and was going to be on the runway inside of a minute. Have to pull all the tapes and wait for the investigation, but initially looks like pilot error on behalf of the army helo crew as they were flying right into the final approach course of Rwy 33 at DCA and either lost visual with the American aircraft, or were mistaking another aircraft for the one they were told to remain clear of.

The one thing I will be interested to find out from the investigation is if either aircraft got a TCAS traffic advisory and a subsequent RA (resolution advisory) and if there was any attempt to comply with the RA.

Maybe start with the OP who pretty much always goes for conspiracy theories and wonder why the assumption is being made.
