That's interesting, I'd be curious to know whether teams are playing 3-4 or 4-3 more often to have such short stout DTs. I guess with dime and nickel packages becoming more prevalent you probably want more 3-4.There’s 3 times the number of 6’6+ DEs than 6’6+ DTs in the NFL according to a chart on Google made in February
I think the importance is maintaining leverage. Doesn't matter if you are blocking the QBs vision in one spot if the OL is determining where that spot is.If true, that shocks me, but I would stand corrected.
I’ve always thought of ideal interior guys like Henderson and Haynesworth being taller who can obstruct a QB’s vision.
