There’s 3 times the number of 6’6+ DEs than 6’6+ DTs in the NFL according to a chart on Google made in February

If true, that shocks me, but I would stand corrected.

I’ve always thought of ideal interior guys like Henderson and Haynesworth being taller who can obstruct a QB’s vision.

That's interesting, I'd be curious to know whether teams are playing 3-4 or 4-3 more often to have such short stout DTs. I guess with dime and nickel packages becoming more prevalent you probably want more 3-4.

I think the importance is maintaining leverage. Doesn't matter if you are blocking the QBs vision in one spot if the OL is determining where that spot is.
