'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

Why not? Would you have a problem with it if he did?

So the reason y’all need Cooper to say it is “why not”. Do I have that right?

Nah I wouldn’t have a problem. People say stupid stuff all the time. Willing to bet some of his teammates might question hik about it but I’m sure when he explained his reasoning for saying it was “why not” that they’d understand.

I remember that game very well, and I really liked Fulkerson .... but honestly, it had nothing to do with his race. The same is true of Knecht. I like him, because he is a Vol and a good player.

There is a clear double standard for what a black player can get away with saying vs what a white player can say. Nobody in the media will dare take Seaton to task for that comment.
Wanting to see guys that look like you in NFL or college head coaching positions is 100% fine. They are under represented. White coaches aren’t under represented. Why would white person care? Every head coach in the SEC is white.

The only reason Uros went to ASU then UT I think it because of familiarity to guys from his culture on the staff iirc.

Maybe we should have seen this coming after the way he took off to LA without telling any of the coaches who were recruiting him and expected him to be in Florida ... but he left Colorado out of his top 5, so they wouldn't be in Florida.

He was jerking people around, and having fun doing so. I can't fault the coaches or the recruiting analysts too much though. The kid seems dishonest and immature.
Orchestrated by Deion so he could keep him insulated and surrounded by friends........ Didn't want coaches in his ear and closing the deal.

What would be interesting is to know who paid for his trip and accomodations to sunny LA. Wonder if that would be a recruiting violation?

I saw that he is visiting Oregon still. What if he is using Colorado for exposure just to decommit? He would not be the first recruit to do that this cycle.

I wonder if he was leaning towards UT and with Campbell announcing he was coming back was enough to sway him. Seen talk where many thought he could be a day 1 starter

Do you know if we’re done here? The other schools’ are acting like he might still sign elsewhere.

I find it hard to believe we would still be interested after today, but was curious what you thought.
I can't think of one recruit that Heupel has ever flipped once they committed somewhere else. Maybe Tyree West but UGA basically was recruiting over him

I haven't read through this thread to see how the hail does Seaton think going to Colorado is a good idea, but this post as a standalone is more reasonable than I normally see from you on other boards. Are we saying Deon is playing the race card? All is fair game but it's low class but we know coaches pull a lot of stuff. The kid needs to see through it. Colorado was a flash in the pan mess. I remember the top basketball players doing that about 3 years ago and it quickly came and went like a fad once they realize they were going to bad programs versus others going to good programs.

I could care less what any of the players do (all i ask is for them to be good people). Was just curious if you'd have the same stance. Most that post like you are complete hypocrites and would be calling Cooper a racist.

It's still a double standard. Some people, like yourself, believe there is justification for it. I don't.

Finally, if the race of the head coach was an important consideration, why not make that clear months ago? It's not like Heupel, Day, Lanning, Saban and Napier were going to change colors before the early signing period began.

Until there is equal representation, it’s not a double standard.

Also I’m sure it was just one of the factors. Not the only factor. He may love what UT had to offer.

Interesting.

Was always a weird recruitment. I will say it's the only time I've seen the official on3 instagram go live, and it was Jordan Seaton on his CO visit showing off his Limo ride.

It’s simple to. POC, as you’d call them, have the ability to do things whites can not do. You just admitted that. You would call that privilege. I don’t think the answer to a problem that ended in the 60’s is to reverse course and give minorities privileges whites do not have.
Doesn't that already happen?

@BreatheUT .... This is what we're talking about.

Also, is someone on a 4-8 team likely to win the Heisman Trophy? Sheesh. They suck.

This is the type of talk that would come from Sanders himself. Normally people like that will convince a few guys in the first few years before the marketing ploy fizzles out because it's horse manure.

Dude is dressed like Sanders. That "me" ball from Colorado wore off early in the season.

Lol, the culture? And what would that be, when Deion started his "high school for the underprivileged" that turned out to be a glorified daycare scam?

Or maybe when Deion said he was "all in" on HBCU's, only to dip immediately after getting pantsed in the celebration bowl a 2nd straight year?

Was it when Deion convinced these kids like Travis Hunter to commit to other schools and then "flip" so he looks like a skilled poacher?

Was it when he came in to CU, kicked out all those kids on scholarship, and brought in the largest transfer class of all time?

Maybe those comments about wanting "two parent households" for QBs, "single mamas" for the defense?

Could be when he fired staff left and right mid-season despite never making adjustments himself? Or letting his injured players stay on the field?

Is it getting old celebrities from SoCal, with 0 ties to Colorado, to come to Boulder just to watch a first year P5 coach because the media props him up?

Really strong culture at that 0.569 program with 1 winning season in the last 17 years that keeps flip-flopping conferences.

/thread

Love the comment about single parent households for defense. Who knew after a career earning probably $100 million playing a kids game paid for by white owners and white fans* that Deions spoiled azz would end up hating......white people?

* America is still mostly white.(for now) In Deions playing days, which were before 40 million or more mostly illegal hispanics entered our country...America was even whiter. Even today according to google the US is only 13.7% black. Thats a little less than 1 in 7 people. So even today, I would bet the majority of NFL fans are white dudes. Contrast Deions attitude with Michael Jordans answer about why he never, ever spoke of politics..." because Republicans buy sneakers, too." He didnt even make THAT comment til 20 years after he retired. Deion is a rube...and hes gonna fail at Colorado. They dont have the $$$ to play ball with the big boys.

What conference is Colorado Football associated with?

Is that conference expected to be as tough as the SEC or B10?

If JS plays softer competition will that make him look better?

Take the $$ and play soft competition and probably not have a good W/L record.

good luck with that...

Your post is clown chit. The best of the best is what everyone should strive for regardless of color of someone's skin
Right...right....as if this society wasn't built on race. But that doesn't count because that was a long time ago, which was***checks notes****50 years ago. Wait im almost 50 so that's in my lifetime. Do you think all the people that thought that way flipped a switch and said I want the best of the best regardless the color of their skin. If you believe that, I got ocean front property to sell you in the hills of Tennessee.

I survived forced integration in Mississippi circa 1970. I know racism intimately. With that said, the constant focus on the failures of the past will not and can not move us beyond that, and I personally am over it all. Move on. There will always be racism, but in 2023 in America, there is no reason for it to keep you from succeeding in life.
