How many white teammates are going to have much say on a team. The sport of football is predominantly black. White players are in the minority on a football team, so they don’t want to start no drama.
40% of College Football players are black.
47% of P5 FBS Football players are black.

Wanting to see guys that look like you in NFL or college head coaching positions is 100% fine. They are under represented. White coaches aren’t under represented. Why would white person care? Every head coach in the SEC is white.

The only reason Uros went to ASU then UT I think it because of familiarity to guys from his culture on the staff iirc.
That don't even make sense. How many NFL coaches are African American? How many D1 college coaches? What percentage of the population are African American Males?

I'll help you out population around 6%. So there are 32 NFL head coaching jobs. 6% x 32 = 1.92.

133 D1 schools. 6% x 133 = 7.98

NFL currently has 3 African American coaches.

D1 currently has 15.

Looks like representation is on par with population.

This is a ridiculous theory. Do you really believe this bull**** you wrote?

So just because white people are the majority, a black kid can say something racist but a white kid can't? Shouldn't both be treated the same? Because you want equality right?
Except it’s not racist. And if you don’t understand that you never will. If you could walk a day in their shoes maybe you could, but you can’t.

Now break down the % of black players in the NFL and power 5 football.

Also if you wanted to normalize you wouldn’t differentiate male/female since the sport is 99.9% coached by males at this higher level.

The ironic part is that anyone who is a real dog would go anywhere but Colorado. It’s the least challenging, least competitive place to go in the Power 5
Exactly. Top OL in the country.
Don’t want to compete at the highest level against the very best competition and play in the playoffs the next 4 years?

That’s what he passed up to play for media circus Deion .

Guess he didn’t realize there were other coaches he could of helped, that also “looked like him”

Is that what you want? A proportionate number of black coaches to black players? You could just say that as opposed to an ambiguous “equal representation”.

47% of P5 players are black.

I have 0 effs to give about the NFL.
Thought it was pretty obvious, lol. And no I don’t necessarily expect 47%. A lot of coaches come from the high school ranks that may never play in college and there are likely significantly more white players at that level.

But more than a measly few % would be expected.

I also doubt people here had a issue with it when Cuonzo was probably benefiting from young black kids looking up to him and wanting to play for someone who looked like them.

So if a white kid says the exact same thing, is it racist? Because if you think it is, you might have some racist ideals within you.

White coaches aren’t under represented.

Was it racist for black kids to want to go see a black super hero movie? A black Disney princess?
No. But I'm not sure I buy into this under represented idea you're trying to push. How many black coaches are on our staff? Why didn't he come here then? He's well represented here. Or are you saying he just wants to play for a black head coach?

Edit: if he would have said I want to play for a black coach because I believe black head coaches are under represented in college football then maybe I'd understand better. The way he said it to me was like no white person could ever understand me, I don't buy that at all. Black people have endured a lot of bad stuff in this country but so have white people. Especially poor white people. And if he's basing a decision SOLELY on race, is that not racism?

He picked the head coach obviously. Deion fired half his staff and he still committed. Do they even have an oline coach right now? I think it’s a bad decision for him, but I understand why he feels the way he does.

If it’s not racist to want to see representation in movies, tv, etc then I don’t see how it can be racist in sports, especially when such a large portion of the athletes are black at the power 5 level.

I edited my post above. Your thoughts?

When it comes to big money, I find it helpful not to be like a Cat chasing a red dot all over the room.

Hot take: 1) I doubt he ends up at Colorado. 2) The NIL he finally signs will be a litter bigger than what he would have signed today.

Is it racist for white kids to want to go see Iron Man? Elsa & Anna in Frozen?
His point is about under representation. I'm assuming he's saying if there weren't any or very few white super heros it would be okay for a white person to go see a movie just because they are white. Well, I think that's what he's saying lol

They aren’t going to see them because they’re white. Everyone in Hollywood was already white for the past few generations so they already got to see people that looked like they everywhere they looked?

Well I don’t think he made his decision solely because of their head coach’s race. I think he’s fired up to play for Deion because he’s Deion and he’s a good salesman.

A large % of black people came out in force and voted for Obama because they wanted to see someone that looked like them in the White House. I don’t consider that racist. Maybe if they continued to do that 100 years down the line when it wouldn’t be considered out of the norm. Or if they have an us vs them mentality.

So is it your opinion that black people csnt be racist?

Maybe it's the way he worded it that's giving me the issues. But anyways I appreciate the insightful discussion. Go Vols!

And if the little white girl said she wanted to go see Elsa because “she has blonde hair and blue eyes just like me, she looks just like me”?
