'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

It goes without saying Tennessee did not get the news they hoped for with Jordan Seaton on Thursday morning. This one had been a roller coaster for a minute, and Colorado quietly worked this one into a commitment.
It felt like the Vols hit the right buttons down the stretch, and in working this up to the decision, it felt like the Vols had some momentum heading in. Still, Seaton played his cards close to his vest, especially over the last 72 hours, and now it is pretty clear why.
Now, with Seaton's commitment to Deion Sanders' program, this one could still be a thrill a minute to signing day. We would have said the same thing had he chosen Tennessee on Thursday morning. Multiple programs still have in-home visits available, and they will work this to the finish line, but it will be a tall task to pull off a flip, in our estimation.

When he came mentioned playing for a black coach in the interview I knew it was over. No chance and honestly don't want someone who makes major decisions based off race.
Me neither. I don’t see why people care so damn much about race in this country.

Lol
Pot meet kettle
Maybe his last name is white
Jesus people are so sensitive with race
It’s ridiculous
Black people get mad when the n word is used by people like MW yet buy all the rap albums it’s said in

BLM didn’t help anyone

People who cry/march/protest/riot over race are a major part of the problem bc they are either just as racist as people they are bitching about or 100x worse and they keep the problem going

The planet wasn’t ready for social media as a whole. People are way way way too sensitive
Omg, he said this, she said that, how about get the **** over it and quit complaining about little **** and start paying attention to what’s really going on

Now break down the % of black players in the NFL and power 5 football.

Also if you wanted to normalize you wouldn’t differentiate male/female since the sport is 99.9% coached by males at this higher level.
you are the one playing the demographics game with all the black players in the NFL, but you don't want to recognize that 100% of all NFL players ever are MALE? why would you expect there to be ANY female representation if you are relying on player demographics to make your argument?

I would love to see a league made up of players where each team had to have the exact racial make up as the country. So many whites, Latino, Asians, blacks, American Indian, ect...

Kidding, maybe.

He picked the head coach obviously. Deion fired half his staff and he still committed. Do they even have an oline coach right now? I think it’s a bad decision for him, but I understand why he feels the way he does.

If it’s not racist to want to see representation in movies, tv, etc then I don’t see how it can be racist in sports, especially when such a large portion of the athletes are black at the power 5 level.
I didn't think anything about the bolded until Jordan's comments but:

deion demoted/replaced his white offensive coordinator with a black offensive coordinator.
deion fired his white offensive line coach and replaced him with a black offensive line coach.
Also got rid of his white tight end coach, the only name I have seen linked to this would be Warren Sapp.
He did replace his black defensive line coach with a black coach as well.

and then there are these comments. kinda hard not to draw some conclusions from the whole thing.

to be fair, there offensive line play last year was offensive so that data point on its own is fine. but the offense in general was their strong point, and everyone was talking about how demoting their OC made NO game sense during the season.

Would anyone give a rats ass if Seaton made rhe comments he did if it was regarding a UT coach? Even If we did we'd be rationalizing it for a top recruit.
This one stings because he deceived us, but the weak explanation he gave as to why is immaterial. In fact his reasoning makes me happier because it means we didn't drop the ball on something we could have controlled. Heup can't make himself black, but at least we did not get out bid. I am also glad our coach does not do this sort of cheese ball stuff. Butch and Lane did it some and it kind of worked until it didn't. Lane has matured and chilled and Butch is at some backwater. I suspect the Deion strategy will fair similarly in the long run.
