'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

Continued thoughts then I'm done... The frustration that's displayed in this thread isn't a result of Seaton doing what he wants, it's the result of the double standard in America. A white person could never get away with saying something like Seaton did. We're beginning to not even get away with evaluating resumes fairly because of all the D.E.I. stuff imposed upon corporate America. I personally work in an environment where black people and women have an advantage. I work with a pretty rock-solid group of engineers and there are federal contracts I want to pursue, but the feds are only reviewing proposals from DBE firms. I don't care if Jordan Seaton wants to play for a black coach. My frustration runs deeper than that and this recruitment just brings those frustrations to the surface. End rant.

Not just a person. A Spanish or a Asian player couldn't get away with saying that either. I really don't understand why society still thinks this is ok.

What a struggle you must endure......... I'm praying you'll some day be able to attain equal rights with black and brown people and women.

And if the representation gap was closed tomorrow? Would you have a problem with a young black male vocalizing that he would prefer to play for a black coach?
Equal representation tomorrow doesn’t mean anything. Would it go back to how it was after the typical fire/hire cycle? You hire 50 black head coaches over night and the result is a lot of young black kids wanting to play for those guys is the reality.

Once it’s the norm, then yeah I would say it would be an issue. They’d have no reason to feel that way at that point, which is the point.

Lol, “tomorrow” is a hypothetical time in the future. It doesn’t literally mean 12/13/23.

But regardless - Your answer is both Yes, and No? Lol well done.

You said tomorrow, period.

If it is the norm, then it wouldn't need to be said and thus would be an issue if it was still being said. It's not that difficult. If that's both yes and no to you, congratulations I guess.

It’s not the norm. 47% of P5 players are black, and obviously, 47% of P5 coaches are not.

But this is a hypothetical. In a time and place described as “tomorrow”. Apologies if you took that literally.

I’ll take you at your word that under this new paradigm, in the aforementioned tomorrow, you will pivot and hold that type of race based preference as unacceptable.

But I do not believe that would be the norm, it would be the exception.

I imagine we would be treated to all new reasons and rationales as to why it is perfectly acceptable for young black males to prefer a black coach.

i didn't screenshot it but he had an insta story clamming he committed colorado for ''him''. he also said he wasn't confirming or denying the article clamming we offered him 7 figures.

That would be questionable to say that at almost any company as well, or for a manager to try to sell that to an employee was choosing between multiple departments. It's better not to say that as a selling point, and just keep it to yourself or word it as "I found Coach Sanders as more relatable" and move on. The issue is this is their marketing pitch.
