Not really. Two completely different skill sets between coaching and playing. just like coaching at different levels requires different skill sets. Just because you are good at one part of the sport doesn't mean you are good at others.huh what? I don’t. He was breaking it out by black males which made it look like the representation was closer to the population. So I just pointed out it should just be by black coaches regardless of gender to get the proper %.
Regardless, the black representation in the sport is much higher than their population % so you would expect the # of black head coaches to reflect that statistically or at least be much closer than what it currently is now.
I have always thought of it similar to "those who can't do, teach"...."those who can't play, coach". some very obvious related exceptions (Deion), but for the most part most coaches weren't top end players.
