'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

So I am curious. Let’s say Seaton decided to flip to us. Highly unlikely but let’s say it happens. Would those of you who have called him shady, easily led, weird or whatever other negative things, be saying the same if he were a Vol?

I M thinking not. I am thinking you would be booming like brassy because we just got an elite player at a position of need.

Who knows how it all ends but so far he is making great progress.

They went 4-8 in 2023, while blowing a 29 point halftime lead to Stanford and getting boat raced by Washington State 56-14. Both Stanford and Washington State finished with losing records. Colorado finished dead last in the PAC 12 conference standings. They went 1-8. I guess that is progress from being 1-11 overall .... but is it "great" progress? No, sir.

Not on IG… is there a way to watch whatever just happened? From the descriptions here, feels like I need to interpret for myself, but talking about Boo recruiting him and “a tight team is as important as the coach” sounds like it’s not necessarily a CO/MD battle only.

He could obviously be misdirecting, but it also makes it seem like maybe some of this is just him being impressionable and having people in his ear saying all sorts of stuff that he is just wrestling with (Deion saying you have to play for a black coach… maybe Boo/UT saying that’s not important, play with a good group of teammates, etc.).

For sure. You don’t turn the kid away if he decides he wants in given how talented he is and our need for OT’s, but CJH would also have to go into this knowing that Seaton (and his handlers) will be very high maintenance. Doubt we will have to worry about that, though. Kid is just using the spotlight to build up fake drama to ultimately sign with Colorado.

I think most posters, including myself, would really like it, but also be realistic and understand that he will probably be in the portal a year from now, regardless of where he signs. It seems very unlikely that he will only play for one school during his college career.

Just at first glance : He craves attention. He enjoys drama. He appears to be very indecisive. It will be hard to keep him happy.

Definitely loves the spotlight and drama. Wherever he ends up, he and his handlers will be very high maintenance. They’ll always be pushing for more $$$. That game will get old fast, even if he is as good as advertised. Agree that he will be in the portal this time next year regardless of what school he signs with.

He enjoyed the big stage 2 weeks ago. and he wants a curtain call .... and he will again next December when he's in the portal.

It's really interesting if you see it from the 20,000 foot view Clay has for years. He saw a gullible, easily monetizable, and easy to trigger "read the headline" audience of a certain demographic and took an actual sports personality that was against "politics in sports" into a caricature that only does that to feed his blunt audience.

It's an art form and Clay has taught his study.

I don't disagree, but they aren't the only ones out there doing this. Maybe on their side of the Isle they are but is he really any different than someone like Stephen A Smith?
