'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

This. So many recruit parents would be disgusted by a lot of the sh*t spewed in this thread. A lot of people are using it as an excuse to say the dumb sh*t they have harbored in their hearts and brains daily.
I’m just disgusted with college football in general. Black, white, coaches, players, super conferences, NIL, playoffs, recruiting, boosters, fans, transfer portal...
WTF even is this thing anymore? It’s like a flushing toilet, swirling around and around, waiting to see where the 💩 sticks, and if that doesn’t work, flush it again.

That first sentence is what I have a problem with.
It’s a lie! He’s not the Jackie Robinson of college football.
There have been many before him doing what he’s doing.
Him and his “followers “ are pushing that false narrative. It’s BS!!
I don't have a problem with the statement; but, my question about it is, what are they doing that's never been done before? Teams have went 4-8, been blown out in multiple games, and finished dead last in their conference countless times throughout history. With the exception of his own fanbase and administration, why would that make ANYONE uncomfortable?

Nevermind, I figured out what he was talking about. In his own words, "From youth on, I don't remember being up 29-0 and losing a football game. I really dont." I get it now.

It's using the race card as a deflector shield. He wants it known, that if anyone is critical of him, it's just because they feel threatened by a confident black man. You're the problem; not him.

It can't possibly be because you think he's received too much praise for going 4-8.

Just my .02 after hearing him talk.

1. He got super stoked by talking with Deion. Easy to see how that would happen. He is the most charismatic coach in CFP.
2. He heard all the snake oil salesman talk. He took a good look at the chaos and Deion throwing his OL coach under the bus.
3. My hunch is the coach at Maryland is someone he respects and he is the one that got him really looking in to Co. Hence, the reason he's got Md in his list, but he knows that isn't the best place to take the next step.
4. I think he really likes Boo and I believe we are solidly in his recruitment, but he is still really torn between doing what's best (any of his top 5) because that requires him to admit to himself he got conned by Deion. I truly believe this kid is looking for stability and a tight locker room.

He was as a hs recruit. The whole USC > Texas > USC episode was crazy, then there was the allegations of off-field stuff at USC, but he’s been totally fine here.
Yah. Uh. You made the point, I think. Bru was issue through two transfers and settled into maturity late in college career.

Are you saying we want to sign Seaton so there can be a couple of years of drama and no production, so that he could then go elsewhere and have success? Sure, we're reaping the benefit of Bru, and I love him.

Now, ask the TX and USC fanbases/staffs what their experiences were?

Definitely how it feels from me as well. He loves Coach E understands the relationship Coach E and Heup have Knoxville wonderful place and TN Football speaks for itself. We will see. In CHRIST Alone

All I did was respond to a poster that said Bru didn’t have any drama. You assumed quite a bit from that comment lol.

I literally asked you a question: "Are you saying...?"

Speaking to the greater point again, Bru was apparently held up as a success story for recruits that eventually matured, and I'm REALLY glad we have him. I just don't think it's the "gotcha" point that the poster thought it was in this context. The point he/she/you(?) were responding to was:

"Don't want Seaton to sign here because he'll bring too much baggage to UT."

Apparently, the answer was to point out a player that brought baggage to two schools, one of them twice, before giving eventual benefit to a third?

So, should we hope Seaton signs with UT so he can bring drama here and eventually mature to the point where someone else gets the benefit of our problems? Because that's kind of what the Bru example would mean.

That's all.

Lol, then the answer is "no". I really didn't have any intention of a broader point you're alluding to. Merely pointing out exactly what I said, that Bru did in fact have drama.

But regarding the highlighted, the point raised by the OP was that all those players wind up being "a bust". You're right, some figure it out 2-3 years later and to late to provide ROI for their initial teams. Perhaps that's what happened with Bru, or perhaps Heupel was just a good fit and some of those things were smoothed over.

I'll just say I trust Heupel. He's done a phenomenal job with culture. He made the right call with Bru and got the most from his talent though many would've labeled him a bust. Many are labelling Seaton a headcase / cancer, but if Heupel wanted him I wouldn't have a single complaint.

Bru says hi
Probably not the example you want to use. Love Bru as a player BUT he was at a program that threw him under the bus during some off the field stuff and screwed his eligibility. He’s a 25 yo WR who probably is a late round pick right now due to age, injury history and what hes put on tape. Bru should be in the nfl right now and should’ve been a high draft pick.

Actually maybe that’s exactly the example you want to use as a cautionary tale for Seaton.

Allegations were BS with a female. DA decided there wasn’t anything there to prosecute but USC held his eligibility hostage bc of that school’s administration. The price of going to a woke liberal hellhole during the “Me Too” bs.

Good post, and I think you and I are living on the same island, drinking the same coconuts. lol

I love Bru. Does Seaton seem like he may have issues? Yah. If the staff think he's worth the chance and we get the #1 OL in the land, I'll be elated. If he goes elsewhere, I won't lose sleep. I have a lot of faith in this staff as far as program building, development, and game day coaching.

Was Bru a good "gotcha" per a poster here thinking Seaton may not be worth the cost to his initial school? Probably not.

Cheers, mate.

Seaton is going to be a roller coaster ride the until he is signed...Does he wait until February now?
Someone posted he may announce something Friday but may not sign until February. Who knows at this point.

The only way I want him is if he helps us as a team. Another 5* here and maybe the A&M one visiting soon sure would look good though

We’d take him if he wanted to come, but I seriously doubt anyone will be losing sleep over him not coming. He’s a head case
He may very well be a head case, but for right now all I know is, he is a highly impressionable young man. Its easy to get caught up in the mess he is in. As an older adult, I surely think he is making missteps, but I've made those and learned from them. Hopefully, he has people that he can trust to get him pointed in the right direction.
