Well what metric would you prefer?I’d think you’d remember how long he’s been the head coach at Arkansas, and you have one season where the PFF nerds share your fanboyhood. You KIND OF dismiss the consistency of Ellarbee’s resume because of what Pittman did at UGA…which is matched by EVERY OL COACH at UGA.
Recruiting. Only at UGA. If your wish came true and Heupel dumped the guy who knows his scheme intrinsically and has followed him to every HC since, to improve RECRUITING? I don’t think 5 stars line up to play for him like you infer. Conversely I see it as star chasing like Mack Brown did with players and staff hires during his decline in Austin and it turns off players like the haul who committed to the 24 class AND the subject of this thread.Well what metric would you prefer?
If we look at the Joe Moore award which started in 2015, Sam Pittman coached OLines have been finalists twice. Once at Arkansas in 2015 and once at Georgia in 2018. Georgia has only been a finalist twice including the Pittman nomination.
Elarbee, to his credit, has Tennessee listed as semi-finalists twice (I didn't bother to look at the number of times Pittman's lines were nominated as semi-finalists), but has never been a finalist. He could potentially be one this year, but I doubt it.
Choose whatever metric you want, Pittman has been at the top at one point, at different stops.
He intends to sign in December so I would imagine in a couple weeks.Gotta think he starts day 1 next season , right ? When is the announcement date ?
Yeah I thought I saw his decision date would be the same as early signing day but I'm not 100% sure.He intends to sign in December so I would imagine in a couple weeks.
Us and Oregon are at the top. Believe Ohio St. is running third and Bama is just hanging around. We'll have to survive his official visit to Oregon as he never took one there. After that, if necessary, Heupel may have to seal it with the in-home visit.
What are you talking about "my wish"?Recruiting. Only at UGA. Yeah Sherrone Mooore and Ferentz probably are at the very top but Elarbee is darn good. Pittman was great at previous stops. What are you talking about "my wish"?
I never made any claim that I wanted Elarbee to leave. Their are obvious synergies there, and I've supported Elarbee the whole time.
However, if we're talking respected OL coaches who've proven more than Elarbee that I consider the best of the bunch, then Sam Pittman and Sherrone Moore, are at the top. Maybe Brian Ferentz. Again this is only talking about ability to coach OL, not ability as an OC or a HC.
As a recruiter, Elarbee has signed 5 4 stars ever, only at Tennessee.
Sam Pittman has signed 4 5 stars and numerous four stars at North Carolina, Arkansas x2, and Georgia. I didn't bother going back too far, because it's just not comparable.
Recruiting to the level of their programs. Ellarbee with MTSU, Mizzou, UCF and a rebuilding UT under NCAA investigation. You’re right…NOT COMPARABLE.What are you talking about "my wish"?

Doesn’t mean I have to like it. We haven’t got a recruit in 3 months and while I realize most don’t commit during the HS season, hundreds do and I’m ready for a game changing talent. Somebody make him a Vols video and shoot it to him.Schools can make videos for recruits. He's probably just posting it because they sent it to him.
