When B-Hop had just gotten out of prison. You didn't see that dodger wanting to fight him after he beat Tito, did you?

Please, Hat. You don't even want to swim in these waters when it comes to that clown Roy Jones. Besides the fact that B-Hop would whip him TODAY or anytime in the past 5 years, Roy hasn't fought ONE decent fighter in 9 years. Not one...
You don't have to sell me on the Executioner. I've seen him fight live twice. However, I do give Roy Jones something of a pass. When he was in his prime, exactly who was he going to fight? He suffers from the same problem Larry Holmes did. His division was devoid of talent during his best years.

Ah that is weak, right there. He consistently moved out out of each weigth class right when the competition began to build up.

In 2001 (after B-Hop beat Tito), he head an opportunity to offer B-Hop a rematch. But no, he danced and shuffled around during the negotiations... always moving the goalposts after each demand was met. He also had an opportunity to fight Dariusz Michalczewski. In one of the most blatantly negotiating atrocities in the history of boxing, Roy Jones managed to move the goalposts o three different occasions and got his demands met on al three occassions. Finally, negotiations fell aport after HBO got frustrated with the whole mess (one of the leading reasons why HBO fired his azz).

He stepped up in weight to fight a low class heavyweight in Ruiz, and then began to run his gibs about fighting Holyfield, Tyson and Lennox Lewis (yeah, THAT Lennox Lewis)! Roy has always run his damn mouth about wanting to fight all of these guys (and you know I'm not lying), yet for some reason, none of these fights ever come through. Hmmmm.... is it al of these fighters faults or is it Roys's. Heck just last week, Roy (in typical Roy Jones fashion) broke away from yet another fight scheduled for this summer.

Now today, Roy is talking about fighting Joe Calzaghe. Whatever...

Roy couldn't lie about being half the fighter that ODLH is. At least he stepped up to fight B-Hop. Now he's moving down to fight Pretty Boy Floyd. Roy Jones justs runs his mouth and fights in Indian casinos, state fairgrounds, and convention centers in Florida.

Mayweather is cocky and talks to much but when he gets in the ring he has plenty of dicipline and does not take stupid chances.

Floyd is not wired for this type of big-time fight. He has a great record, which is a testimony to his management, but he is getting into the ring with a much more experienced and savvy fighter. The lights will be too bright, there is too much pre-fight focus on Floyd, and this "bad-guy" approach is going to backfire.

He won't be knocked out, but he will be treated to a master-class on boxing skills.

Best pound for pound......my butt. Don't buy into the hype.

We'll see.

Don't get me wrong...I'm no fan of ODLH myself. I just believe he is better suited to win this fight. Mayweather hasn't shown me anything but mouth.

Who is the best fighter in the world today then? FLOYD. Do i like him? Not in Particular. The "Bad Guy" approach is just because they want to sell this thing, and Oscar is the "Golden Boy". As i stated earlier, the way to beat Mayweather is with Brass Balls and a Steel Chin, the only time he was CLOSE to being beaten was against J.L. Castillo.

One cannot accuse Floyd of picking opponents when Oscar has done the same. He was outboxed by Shane Mosley twice, fought like a moron against Tito, and was embarassed by Bernard Hopkins. Assuming Tito iand Vargas are World Class Fighters (i wouldn't, though), he has fought solid all around fighters IN THEIR PRIMES (this is so i don't have to hear about Chavez, Whitaker, etc) 5 times, and his win over Vargas the only check mark in the win column.

Floyd might be a punk, but his feet are fast, he's a much better counterpuncher than Oscar, and better at covering up. I'd love for ODH to win, but i can't see it happening

ha ha tito not being a world class fighter. he was considered to be pound per pound the best fighter for 8 years. your knowledge of boxing is not good. tito would never have been beat at welterweight. the same with de la hoya at lightweight, and mosely. they moved up and fought elite fighters, what does the punk do, move up and fight gatti and baldamiar and judah. he's not even in the same class as far as i'm concerned. he hasn't even fought at top 10 P4P fighter, but he is great, like roy jones.

Yeah, he looked great against the Executioner. He was real impressive against Shane Moseley. Every good fighter De La Hopeless has faced has beaten him.

Agreed. De La Hoya has fought much better competition that Mayweather, but he has lost virtually every fight that he had against a really good fighter unless you count his victory over an 80-year-old Julio Cesar Chavez.

Mayweather will kill De La Hoya. De La Hoya ties to be too technical in his big fights, and the result is that he doesn't throw enough punches.
