That 'punk' is best p4p fighter in the world
They said the same about Roy "Glass Jaw" Jones.
I think he's very tough, but I also think Del La Hoya is a better fighter and at the end of the day he'll outpoint Mayweather.
Well, did anyone watch the fight? What did you think? Personally, I feel that Oscar went into that match knowing he'd have to land the big punch in order to win. Mayweather was just too elusive and quick for that. All in all, it was a pretty boring fight. Oscar was right, if he didn't push, there wouldn't have been much fighting going on.
Told You So. Oscar fought well, i actually had him ahead or even until my scores after round 9...my final tally was 115-113 Mayweather
I had 115-114 De La Hoya. The fight was exceptionally boring, and if De La Hoya had come to fight at all, he could have walked away with the fight. He absolutely gave away the final 3 rounds through a lack of effort.
I had predicted a Mayweather victory, but came away from this fight extremely unimpressed with both fighters.
But i also noticed Oscar was sagging his right knee too much around the 7th round on, he was getting gassed...without a good bounce off the back leg power shots lose effectiveness
Floyd landed several sold punches, Oscar had his share, but most of the time on the ropes when he threw in flurries, it was shoe-shine that did nothing other than excite the crowd. If any of those flurried hooks and uppercuts to the gut would have landed, Oscar might have been able to make a run late...

I'm no expert on boxing, but it did seem like he had some high percentages. Some of it might have been the fact that he's so fast, the judges had to give him the benefit of the doubt.I agree that alot of Oscar's punches were missing, but I think that the overwhelming majority of Floyd's punches were being blocked too. I think the punch stats for the number of punches landed by Mayweather were way off.

The biggest question I'm left with is why doesn't that Medina kid walk out to "Funky Cold Medina"?
I enjoy boxing as well, but it is not making any kind of coemback anytime soon. Too many governing bodies, too many titles, no one running the show.
