Please stop forcing soccer down our throats. It is not a requirement for 6 out of every of the top 10 plays to be a soccer goal, which in my opinion all look the same. Its one thing to have this stuff when World Cup is on, but I really dont care about this sport. Am I the only one this annoys? Because that could be a possibility due to my out spoken hate for that boring sport. Its like hockey but no hitting and not as cool. Its awesome the rest of the world loves it but America has better things, real football.

I agree....I love watching the World Cup and really enjoy following it, but all the other is worthless to me. I am also annoyed by these soccer goals on the top plays, they do all look the same.

Edit: I love watching the World Cup when the US is Playing.

soccer = channel change.

Doesn't matter if its the World Cup or Danielle Beckham, I can't watch that crap.

I personally feel the same way about hockey and Nascar coverage <ducks and covers>

I could do without the baseball but I know there are some people who enjoy it. I like hockey and know some don't. But the soccer needs to go!.

Baseball is my favorite sport, far as I am concerned Hockey can go back to Canada and Soccer can go wherever it came from to.

I guess Im in the minority here but I am a soccer fan. I know that might be "un-American" to some of you but I appreciate all sports for various reasons. So if, Ronaldhino is on the top 10 for some miracle shot from a corner kick Im ok with that.

hockey is at least a great game to watch live. i went to an english premier league game a couple of years ago. if i wasn't completely plastered i would have been bored to death.

I really don't think I could stomach watching a soccer game live. Hockey, although I don't care about it is fun to watch live. So, now that I think about it.....I take back what I said earlier about Hockey going to back to Canada. Soccer can vanish off though.

they show baseball and nascar highlights and they suck as well. Personally I like seeing soccer highlights because of the type of play that it takes for it to make Sportscenter. I will give you that it's a better game to play than watch

No matter the coverage, there is little to nothing anyone can do to make Americans love soccer. It just isn't going to happen.

Although I do enjoy watching World Cup. Other than that, soccer is completely boring to watch.

I think you guys that think it is really boring have missed the boat to some extent. I can understand both sides of the argument, and hell, I'll agree. At times, soccer is very boring, but I think we Americans have gotten spoiled with fast paced, high intensity, immediate entertainment. To score in soccer, plays and manuevers take a little longer to develope and I think that bores people. The strategy however is admirable imo.

Watching a seed bust into a blade of fescue has the same thrill as watching a soccer play "unfold"

I like soccer fairly well, but I think it's impossible to really "get" it if you don't have the full slate of loyalties, hatreds, history, etc. that European fans do. A sports team is just a team over here (unless it's your school), but there are many places where the soccer team you support is a matter of politics, class, ethnicity, etc., in a way that makes our team-rooting over here look pretty banal in comparison. E.g., Celtic v. Rangers, Juventus v. AC Milan, Barcelona v. Real Madrid. Americans who flip on one of those games don't have any of that background to appreciate what's going on, and so we're left with just 22 guys running around on a field in a game with almost no scoring. It's no wonder we don't like it much.

Now I do like watching a game of Rugby. Was in Roma 2004 when the Irish, Scottish and Spanish national rugby teams were in town for a tourny. Some of the best times I ever had.

Great point. We dont understand all the implication sometimes. A soccer match is more than a game some times.

Maybe in Europe, or Brazil but not in America. Noone here cares about MLS. If its not the World Cup, the ratings will be low.

Personally I would rather attach a firecracker to my testicales than watch a MLS soccer game, or any soccer game for that matter.

I think this is a very good point. For me, one of the reasons I have a hard time getting into it is that I never played soccer, nor really studied the game. I do not understand the nuances involved. Same reason I struggle enjoying hockey.

in your opinion. Some of us can watch and enjoy the skill it takes to put together a 120yd scoring attack that may take a couple minutes

I am certain you could care less Mike, but to prove the above point about "rivalry games" or soccer games meaning more to them. During the World Cup, civil wars were held to a cease fire due to the game. To them it is everything. We are spoiled.

Of course it means more to Europeans, that is the only sport some countries have. Like I said, been all over Europe and S-America, watched both Rugby and Soccer games. And, Europeans get down with some Rugby.

I concede point about understanding the game. (which I don't) I had to be taught the game of hockey before I enjoyed it. Luckily I had a friend who's father played hockey for the Bruins and learned the game over a year or two.
