Dear ESPN

but in the end, a soccer match is only a game, and a terribly boring one at that.

It's no more "only a game" than American football, which, if evaluated strictly on its merits as a viewing experience, is vastly inferior to the rugby from which it was derived. As an English friend said to me once, "You Yanks don't even really watch sports; you sit down and watch commercials for three hours."

and people discuss WWE on this board like it's a religion and an actual sport is getting bashed?

as opposed to a baseball game that takes 3-4hrs for a similar result or a car race where you only need to even watch the last 5 min. It's all relative
to each their own. irt the last 5 mins of a car race, all you need is about 1 minute for a soccer game. 3 seconds for the kick, 57 seconds for the moron to yell goal!!!!!

5min in nascar is 1 minute of racing and 4 minutes hearing how #3 would have done it. See, all the same

Rugby rocks!

Btw, had an excellent time in Denver! Thanks for the advice. Heading to Ft. Walton on 24th of march, know any good spots there?

i know you will probably get all pissy about this, but I dont consider soccer that much of a sport.

then you have a very odd definition of sports. They are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world

you can't use your hands. All they do is run up and down a football field. Not doubting the conditioning but, the talent that it takes is questionable.

I was a goalie so I used my hands plenty. Technically you don't use your hands in tennis so that's not a sport? Why do hands = sport but feet does not? Step out on a field with a decent player and you will see it takes skill.
