If you have a lot to blacken its best to heat it normal from the bottom, it'll stay hot longer, but for 1 or 2 pieces it won't take long to get the surface hot enough to get a good crisp on the blackening season. And it obviously won't use a lot of gas.I wouldn't have thought about heating the skillet upside down.
Nothing to forgive, its already been proven they are considered to be in the candy bar category. Simple .Dear @Souce .....
I hope while you are away you've been spending some time to realize Peanut Butter cups are not candy bars and therefor your candy bar pole was skewed. I want you to know we all forgive you for that.
