Pat's statement from the affidavit-

7. Unbeknownst to the individuals I shared this news with, Dave Hart spoke with me again, subsequent to March 14, 2012, one-on-one meeting, and indicated that I misinterpreted what he said.

Big difference to me.

I call BS ........how could one with dementia possibly misinterpret something . Off with Hart's head!!!

Either way she 'misinterpreted' it.

Hart did the right thing.

I know it is from Pat Summitt's mouth, but I do not know how out of context it is. The media has a way of twisting words to make it fit their story. Not saying that is happening here, but I just feel all of this seems odd. Who comes to a new job as AD and does away with the winniest basketball coach in history when she was still in the NCAA touney. It just doesn't add up.

Most of the people who are outraged over this aren't using the Media for information. I am strictly using Pat Summitt's affadavit and the Law suit documents.
Hart did indeed call Pat in before the Tourny and according to Pat Summitt he told her she would not be the coach next year. Black and White.

No difference at all. Hart was covering his a$$ just like he has done in the past. I don't know but when someone says, " You will not be our coach next season, but we will give you an office and a title" it sounds pretty clear. The second meeting was a cover IMO.

How do you know that? You don't. Unless you were in the room. Like everyone else on here, I don't know what happened in that room. We won't know Hart's full side until they finish drafting his release comments.

Did it?
If you read the whole article Pat said she misunderstood Hart in the first sit down..

There is two sides to every story.

That is not what Pat said. She said that in the second meeting Hart told her she had misinterperted. Big difference!

Agreed.
But hey we know hart has bigger balls then all of us.
One thing pat did say was she is retiring and it was her decision before the Debbie downer situation.

Someone asks why keep the Lady Vols Logo? Because it raises more than a million dollars a year in sales. It is a trademarked licensed logo. More recogonizable to many than the power T. That is why it should be kept. It is a symbol of a Athletic program run with integrity, unlike the male side. That is another reason!

I'd like to see a source here, because I'm calling BS.

How many people thought Debbie Jennings was a money chasing clown before last night? 75%. Now with the Summitt news, she has the leverage among the fan base.

Source please.:hi:

Whoops, I forgot to call BS.

What is BS? The fact that Lady Vols earned a million bucks or that the woman's program has more integrity than the men's? The budget information is avaliable from UT and the integrity is a no brainer. When was the last time the NCAA cited Pat Summitt's program? Answer never. Which program has 100% graduation rate? Answer the Lady Vols. If it isn't about Football some of you just don't get it.

I am not sure why I bother trying to talk to people like you because even in black and white you won't admit it isn't BS because if it isn't about Football agenda it is BS.... but here goes.

"Development dollars tied directly to the Lady Vol basketball program, which in the 1980s hovered around $75,000 annually, now top $1 million.
Boosters pay $40,000 up front and $10,000 annually for the rights to first row floor seats at Lady Vol games.
The program is self-supporting and profitable, a feat matched by only a handful of other collegiate programs nationwide, all of whom owe their own successes to Summitt's accomplishments at U.T"

Are you seriously quoting a source about financials from 2005?

The "brand" lost over a million last year.......if I read financial reports correctly,,,,please dont take this as me taking anything away from Summitt

I don't, BC. I'll see if I can find something on it tomorrow. I thought they came out ahead last year but may be mistaken.

Interesting. The story has always that the women's basketball team was self-sufficient, but they lost a million dollars last year.

So the upshot is that having a separate AD for women's sports was completely untenable. The two ADs had to be merged, which means cuts, which means Debby Jennings. The answer to all your questions is money.

If you can't run a program with integrity, I wouldn't care what the profit was. But, I might be a rare breed.
