Debbie Jennings

Well, you've never explained how you know what is and isn't "crap" in the department.

Fill us in. Us minions need some education. You're the resident insider on all things UTAD. Are you claiming its a well oiled machine in no need of cuts?

I really don't understand why everyone is attacking this woman. She has worked in the Women's athletic department for 35 years and seems like she was viewed as a key part of Pat Summitt's success. Obviously, she did not respond well to the merger after enjoying nearly 35 years of autonomy. Should she have been fired? Yes, it certainly appears that way. But it is still very unfortunate that Debbie Jennings could not get on board with Dave Hart's vision for the AD. So I really don't think it is a cause for celebration when someone who has been doing their job well for 35 years has to be cut loose.

She would not have been fired if not for her attitude. This sexist attitude goes both ways. I had a doctor who had lady vol stuff all in her business, and I asked her something about the men and she responded she only liked the lady vols.

I'm more celebrating that this person whose character is clearly being shown through all of this is going to be obliterated in court.

I sure as hell hope it isn't as an English professor because it's paid and not payed. I also hope those other people are working their asses off while you goof off non-stop on here arguing about irrelevant sh*t.

I love grammar/spelling purists that don't bother to check their facts. Both spellings are correct, although I also personally prefer paid.

The other one that drives me nuts is lose/loose. That's the one you should really jump on.

Then all coaches should have a decent PR person? Pat's success came from her hard work, outstanding standards for herself and her team.

One thing I have not seen in this thread is Joan's response to the situation. I don't remember her projected retirement date. Is she still on staff?

That's the one that really annoys me as well. I hate it!

"Payed" is a word if you're talking about sealing the deck or hull seams of a wooden ship (according to the dictionary app on my computer).

Both of those dictionaries name just 1-2 specific definitions of "pay" in which "payed" can be used.

This is turning into quite the side debate.
