I’m hearing that depth along the D line might be an issue for you guys. Is that a legit concern or are people just nitpicking trying to find any weakness they can?Yep, with our schedule, I’ll be very happy to end the regular season with a Playoff spot without being too beat up. Y’all’s schedule is also pretty tough. If I were a Vol, I’d be very happy to end with a Playoff spot and have a chance to make some noise in the postseason.
It could be an issue. We don’t lack talent, but if we have injury trouble experience could be an issue. There are many saying that the D-line could be a weakness for us, and I think they are trying to compare this years guys with what we had in 2021 and 22 which just isn’t fair. It’s completely ridiculous to expect a d-line to be like ours was in 2021.I’m hearing that depth along the D line might be an issue for you guys. Too many good teams this year.
Even Georgia doesn’t have those kind of expectations and they’re #1.
I don't get this mentality at all. How do you glean any enjoyment out of being a fan if the only thing that satiates you is something that happens so infrequently?
But this is not something WE are in control of. Should the players, the coaches, the staff members, the administrators, etc "shoot for the moon" when it comes to bringing success to this program? Absolutely! We have zero control over the success or failure of the program, besides showing up and cheering for the team. We are...if you really want to boil it down to its purest form...customers! We are patrons. We pay money to be entertained on Saturdays in the Fall. People can feel however they want as fans. It just seems to me that fanhood would be pretty miserable if you only looked at it in such a singular "natty or bust" way."Shoot for the moon because even if you miss you'll still land among the stars."
"It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all."
Being scared of failure is no way to live. I'd rather hold myself to sky high expectations and fall short than paltry expectations with the intent to fulfilling them.

Different mindsets for different folks I guess cause what you're saying right now makes no sense to me. How can you as a fan go into any game or season expecting to lose? Why even watch the games then? I watch every game cause I expect us to win. Now if we lose do I go into the dumps? Not necessarily. Most of the time it's simply on to the next one. But there are rare occasions where a loss stings for a while. But that's the nature of life. You can't go through it trying to limit getting hurt. Sometimes the hurt is part of living life.
Oh believe me, it stings for me when we lose as well! I NEVER take losses as something that doesn't affect me. I just believe more in the law of probability, rather than possibility. I'd rather be an informed fan, know where we are talent wise, and adjust expectations accordingly. I don't do it to shield myself from disappointment. I do it because it allows me to define reality-based success, and not be some mindless starry-eyed dreamer.
And while you're at it...get off my lawn...HAHAHAHAHAAAA"Define Success For This Season"
