Del Rio Out vs Tennessee

Generally, and it was true for the Gators last year, you can hide a QB for a game or two.

Florida's offense was "ok" against LSU and Georgia before getting more putrid as the season went along with Treon.

I agree with LW here, except everything I have heard says that Appleby is better than Treon.

But, there's no getting around that it's going to be a problem for however long LDR is out.

From a Gator perspective, the hope is to find a way against Tennessee. After that you have Vandy and then hoepfully, you get LDR back

I'm sure Florida will

Can't start Trask in Neyland. AA starting next Sat is the right call...win or lose.

If Appleby plays catch with UT's secondary, we could see Trask under center.

Ultimately the game will come down to UF's defense saving the day, Pineiro making every FG he attempts, and a gimpy Callaway making plays in the return game.

Like the UT natives here, I have little confidence in either OL to establish a decent enough running game.

Appleby is a liability...at least Treon and Driskel made plays with their legs.

Appleby is a statue with major accuracy issues.

What he lacks in running with his legs, he's making up for it with his mouth. Love it. Personally I don't think finishes the game Saturday.

What did he say?

It's really nothing too much. But it's enough to get under the fan's skin. Saying Neyland isn't impressive and the atmosphere isn't good and that it's no big deal playing here. It's minimal, but I wouldn't want Dobbs or anyone else saying that before we went into the Swamp.

You took that from his response to a reporter asking about playing in games vs ND and Mich State? Those are hostile environments for a visiting QB.

With Sutton out at this time, the secondary is a lot weaker than many of us are comfortable with.

I agree this will come down to a defensive grudge match though. I think both team's front seven will cause fits on Saturday.

Well when he says the atmosphere is disappointing and the stadium not very big then I will take it as I see/read it. Unless I'm misinformed, I thought that's what he said.

Did CJM get a penalty for his behavior Saturday.....kids unfortunately get hurt all the time and does anyone really think that was a cheap tackle???? just curious

Turns out the kid #18 for UNT caused a season ending knee injury to SMU's starting QB two weeks ago.

Kid plays dirty, and McElwain was justifiably pissed off about it.

you didn't answer the question....his actions almost caused a brawl....did #18 get a penalty?

What's to answer?

#18 got flagged and McElwain didn't.

Not sure what your point is, other than suggesting McElwain should have been flagged...refs thought otherwise.

no you answered it......not starting a problem here.......since they took the head out of, and chop blocking out of football, are opposing defensive players not suppose to tackle below the waist? sorry Luke is injured and hope he plays Saturday.....Unless they called a late hit on #18 I am missing the out rage

McElwain's outrage came from #18 living up to his reputation as a dirty player.

If it was a one time thing, I may not have thought much of it. But it appears to be a pattern of behavior for #18 Wheeler. He certainly seems dirty. I wish Del Rio was playing this Sat. I want to be Florida with their 1's in the game.

Mizzou probably gonna win the East.

The only chance it had of making this a 4 team race would have needed them to beat UGA on Saturday (their remaining SEC schedule isn't as favorable as UGA, UT...oddly it's about the same as UF's).

They're probably good enough to make a bowl game and possibly play spoiler to a team along the way, but they're not good enough this year to win it.
