Delta Variant

One of my good friend's teenage nieces is currently intubated and in ICU with the Delta variant.

She was vaccinated. She was masked up. Delta didn't give a ****.

Now that we know what we're dealing with, hiding behind a closed door praying you played the odds to your favor isn't worth it. Take the precautions you and your doctor feel you need and trust the Great Physician for the rest. You can't mitigate every risk out there.
Sorry to hear about your friend’s niece Ash. I’m praying for her quick recovery and peace for her and the family.

"If COVID was such a critical threat to everyone in the USA the question
should be 1) why are the Dems letting in mass amounts of non vaccinated
people across the border, 2) why are the Dems then transporting them to
various places across the country and not vaccinating them or notifying
local leaders. "
This is what’s called “things that make you go hmmm?”

The risks posed by the vaccine are infinitesimally small and usually easily resolved. The risks posed the virus are very high and outcomes often terrible.

I just don't understand how we are still having this debate. It is utterly irrational.
You call a 2% vaccine incident super low, but a 2% virus incident rate super high?

How much of a risk is it to my 13yr old vaccine vs virus? I haven't seen any numbers either way.

Is it unAmerican to be obese, smoke, do drugs or be an alcoholic?

Because of people not wearing masks and not taking the vaccine. Duh.

So, you would shut down the economy, risking the national security, and take away vaccinated people's livelihoods and in-school learning opportunities, just to keep those who CHOSE NOT to get the vaccine from getting sick? If hospitals are not over-run with the sick there is NO REASON whatsoever to even think about shutting down.

So basically what happens to the average Vol fan after yet another hard loss.

I’m just glad my health/life insurance companies don’t have an EKG showing what my heart goes through during a game.

The virus risk is 0%, even carried out several decimal points.

The vaccine risk short term is a low but real risk of myocardial inflammation and a miniscule risk of anaphylaxis or GBS. Long-term risks are completely unknown.

I don't think anyone is considering shutting anything down at this point, calm your tits.

My point was if we do get back to that point, its going to be because people are afraid of the vaccine that millions of people have already taken.

No, it will be because of overreaching politicans. Same as the first time.

Do you have data on the risk of getting myocarditis? From what I have seen I would say it’s low enough to not be considered as a “real” risk.

You better believe politicians are considering shutting things down or trying to make second class citizens of those who don't have the vaccine, or both. And, if we get back to that point, the only way it could be justified it will be because the vaccine doesn't work. But we know the vaccine works very well, so we will never get back to that point. Any attempt to shut us down will have nothing to do with the people who don't get the vaccine. They are taking the risk of not getting it, and they are not endangering the vaccinated when taking that risk. If they catch covid, then the consequences are on them if they die or have to be hospitalized. As long as there is no run on the hospitals, there is zero reason for the government to do anything more than it has already done.

Is that more of a risk if they play sports?
