you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19
Frequently Asked Questions about COVID-19 Vaccination
It's not your right to know or to try and protect anyone outside of your own family. If you don't get the vaccine I really don't care. If you're so worried get the vaccine, otherwise stay home and wring your hands over the death toll at ball games. It’s not really necessary to get vaccinated if you’ve had COVID, but there’s no denying the vaccines work to slow the spread and decrease hospitalizations for those who have never had COVID.
The problem is that without mandates, which no one including myself wants, how do you know who and who has not been vaccinated when you’re in a crowded restaurant or ball game?

The virus risk is 0%, even carried out several decimal points.
The vaccine risk short term is a low but real risk of myocardial inflammation and a miniscule risk of anaphylaxis or GBS. Long-term risks are completely unknown.
I assume the worst and expect everyone around me could be a risk. I have the personal ability to take measures on my own and protect myself or I can live with the risks and continue on with my life. The problem is that without mandates, which no one including myself wants, how do you know who and who has not been vaccinated when you’re in a crowded restaurant or ball game?

This is upsetting, news out of Israel is not good. The vaccines are not holding up well to the Delta Variant.
Its possible that if enough people don't take the vaccine, this virus could keep mutating to a point where the current vaccine is basically useless. You better believe politicians are considering shutting things down or trying to make second class citizens of those who don't have the vaccine, or both. And, if we get back to that point, the only way it could be justified it will be because the vaccine doesn't work. But we know the vaccine works very well, so we will never get back to that point. Any attempt to shut us down will have nothing to do with the people who don't get the vaccine. They are taking the risk of not getting it, and they are not endangering the vaccinated when taking that risk. If they catch covid, then the consequences are on them if they die or have to be hospitalized. As long as there is no run on the hospitals, there is zero reason for the government to do anything more than it has already done.

Why can't vaccinated people do the same? Take matters into your own hands to protect your self, but leave others alone.

It depends. I’ve heard more people than not say they got sick from the vaccine. I’ve seen some that were very seriously sick. It’s similar to the virus, for most it’s no big deal but for some people it is a huge deal and could be fatal.Well the covid vaccine doesn't have the actual virus in it, unlike the flu vaccine. So in his case he was probably just unlucky. How long was it after he was poked before he got sick?
