Democratic Socialism

Incorrect. He is wanting to REPLACE the private market middle man with a bureaucratic middle man as an expense.

Which historically in this instance is roughly 1/6th the cost of the private middle man.

Like I say, I am fine with public option, don;t make it mandatory. Put it out there next to Aetna and BCBS. Let your neighbor sign up first and come to you and explain that they are going to your same doctor and have the same catastrophic coverage you have, and they are paying a third less.

The polls in those states, indicate that they are. Trump's largest core constituency is comprised of white men over 40, who do not have a college degree and live in a household which earns less than $50,000 annually.

The Republican Party is the party of Jethro and Lulu, who attend Trump rallies and rail against the evils of socialism.... but an hour later pay for their groceries with food stamps on the way back to their public housing residence.
Your brush is extraordinarily broad here.

And this is why you will lose yet again.

He who pays is in control so yeah the .gov will be controlling healthcare under Bernie's plan.

I’ll make a prediction.. (if Bernie gets in ) , since he already has a plan to eliminate competition buy doing away with private insurance , the next steps will be doing away with Big Pharma and having the government assume that rolls as well .

I do not believe your 1/6th fraction. Even if true, the cost will rise exponentially over time. Remember, this is the same outfit which wastes billions of dollars every year in spending.

Holy Sh!t you need to stop ingesting these polls and go out to these places , meet these people and report back to us on what BS these polls are you’ve been slobbering over .

Still no correlation - just speculation based on unlinked, uncorroborated information. But to address another of your issues. Is "poorest" state defined by average income or do they apply other factors? Because I have a strong hunch that $50K would go a lot farther in MS than in NY or CA or any number of other states.

More likely price controls will be passed (like with Medicare). Which will force Pharmaceuticals to scale back and only produce the most profitable or most consumed drugs.

Gotta love that progressive system . Won’t be long and those idiots will have our quality care in the crapper and they will be touting that , now we are like the rest of the countries .

These states are defined by household income as well as the percentage of households which are on at least one of the six major U.S. welfare programs - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition (food stamps), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Earned Income Tax Credit, and/or housing assistance. By any metric, West Virginia and Mississippi are always at the bottom and yes, those are red states.

Medicare administration is 1.4 percent.

The same costs in the private sector range from 11 to 20 percent, depending on type.

PolitiFact - Comparing administrative costs for private insurance and Medicare

It is too easy to hide behind the vague boogeyman of "Sure, but in the future costs will go up" when the reason it is so low is economies of scale, and you will increase that benefit by having a public option, not decrease it.

The cost of delivery of medical care in this country will go up under either, but it is magnitudes worse under the current system because of inefficiency and fragmentation. The private insurers LOVE that because it provides cover for them to exact such a huge price to deliver the same services as Medicare, but for more money.

You really have to worry about the mental stability of people (like the pro Bernie faction) who believe in government efficiency and cost containment after years of exposure proving the opposite.

Let us be careful in our thinking. Only the system for the masses will be in the crapper. The wealthy, the politicians, the elites, and the "important" people among us will have an entirely separate and private system. They will fly all over the world to get the very best. Just as the upper crust in other countries do now when they come to America for health care.

And how are those qualifications defined - by local, state, regional, or national qualifying levels?

Please ask and listen to anyone on the delivery end of health care. NurseGoodVol, the hospital administrator who posts here, KiddieDoc...anybody. Private health insurance and Medicare are not analogous. It is not an apples to apples comparison. Medicare sets the policy for services. There is no debate. Private insurance works within the system.

You mean it will be just like all socialist countries , where the ruling class and their friends are able to receive what they need and all peasants will bear the cost and the have to let the rough end drag ? Nooooo ,

Lol. What do the polls show as Bernie’s largest supporting group? College grad making less than $35k a year with $150k in student loan debt? Or like the other night, some kid that thinks everything should be free. That if their 8 years of skoolin’ don’t work out they can get a job at McDonald’s, work 40 hours, buy an nice house, nice vehicle, and still have a money to burn.
