Which couldn't happen if most of the country didn't despise your kind. You are only relevant because you have big numbers of fools locked up in a few cities. The part the country that actually produces for you leeches is red from coast to coast.

Poor Liberals. They just can’t catch a break. Now they have to wet their beds at night wondering if Trump will steamroll them in 2024. Another planned attempt to spot on the Constitution has failed.

It's only going to get worse for them. Do a search for Dan Schultz and read about precinct committeemen. Get involved and we can create an actual 2 party system.

On my way home from work this afternoon I stopped and bought a few sticks of firewood from a fella selling it out of his truck on the side of the road (I wanted some firewood to help burn up the green tree trimmings from my wife's backyard rampage). This was a middle aged guy who told me he had been laid off last month from a good job in the oilfield. I didn't need to ask him who he voted for in the last election. He's hurting thanks to Joe Biden.

Couldn't wish for more, but I really don't see it happening. Dims are too aware that they have to band together for clout - that's the basis for everything they are - whether socialists or unionists or any other coalition. The goal is to divide and conquer by being the largest of the divided, and they can't get there by splitting themselves. Dims may on the whole not be very intelligent, but they are politically savvy. They watched Perot split the GOP and hand it a loss. They realize their strength in not in individuals but in creating and selling blocs of disparate creatures that they are abused by and victims of society, and that the dims will care for the losers of the world.

Yeah, but their Chinese masters will never allow them to be nationalistic populists, which is the future of the Republican party.

JUST IN: Now that former Pres. Trump has been acquitted, Democrats now want Congress to vote to invoke Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which prevents anyone who has "engaged in insurrection" against the US from holding office.

This can be done with a simple majority vote.

Lol. Democrats must really think Trump will be elected again otherwise. Either that or they themselves are trying to provoke an insurrection.

so not guilty of inciting an insurrection, but we are going to vote again another way on insurrection? just a legal thought, but does some double jeopardy come into play

A book I'm currently reading has to do with the post WW2 history of SE Asia. In 1949-50 the big topic was communism - how to counter the USSR and the new China. The interesting part was that Britain and France recognized they would have no clout in that part of the world without US support - particularly financial, industrial, and military hardware. Today, except for our military and perhaps natural resources, we would pretty much be irrelevant in a similar conversation. The nationalism/globalism argument is what decides whether the US will fail or will continue as a world power. That one piece of the puzzle and the stupidity the dims keep spewing are all that keep me an anti-dim because the GOP doesn't offer much else.

LOL! Spinning today as a victory for Donald Trump is a stretch. There was never any doubt that he would be acquitted. 7 Republicans voted to convict, which is 1 more than what was expected last night. Richard Burr's vote was a surprise... and even though, he did vote to acquit on the grounds that impeaching a private citizen is unconstitutional, Sen. Mitch McConnell said these scathing words about Donald Trump afterwards:

"Former President Trump's actions that preceded the riot were a disgraceful, disgraceful dereliction of duty. Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day."

and Sen. McConnell further added...

"Impeachment was never meant to be the final forum for American justice. We have a criminal justice system in this country. We have civil litigation. And former Presidents are not immune from being held accountable by either one."

In that 2nd statement, McConnell appears to be suggesting that Donald Trump could be subject to criminal prosecution in the future (in Georgia, perhaps?). That is definitely more accountability than what I was expecting to be placed at the feet of Donald Trump, by his fellow Republicans.
