Eliminating the IRS would create a huge revenue gap.

Automating most of the IRS along with a drastic reduction in the number of preferences in the tax code could work.

However, this admin wants to add more complexity and preferences to the tax code...

No, they want to eliminate it completely, the IRS is not needed just as I said. The king has no need to collect taxes when he has the power to print. Tarriffs still make sense to keep countries in line or adjustments. You are already using the printing press and probably will be the rest of your life.

Complete waste of time. Having 100,000 employees pretend seems pretty wasteful.

Once again, Trump says one thing and does another. His proxies in Congress are proposing legislation to add additional preferences and complexities to the tax code.

No argument there's waste at the IRS but you will never be efficient if every admin uses the tax code to make it more complex, more cumbersome, and as a way to push a partisan agenda (as opposed to generating revenue)...

I have a buddy that is in the DOGE crosshairs....he was offered to go remote with the CDC about 12 years ago due to not enough office space. He went from an office, to sharing an office, to a cubicle, to a rotation of working at home 2 days a week to-- will anyone please volunteer to not come in any more aside from some quarterly meetings. He took the remote offer, sold his home in Atlanta and moved back to his hometown 2 hours away. This actually saved the CDC some money, he took a pay reduction due to no longer "living in a high-cost area"

Now he has the "come back to the office or you are out letter." He's hitting the dusty trail, but he said if a fraction of the remote people does choose to come back, he has no idea where they'll house them. They'll likely need to add on/or construct a new facility.

All the liberals hate him because he made EVs a realistic choice for most people and helped Ukraine with internet access when they were attacked.

Didn't he just threaten to turn off those same Starlink terminals if people didn't do what he wanted?
