The regular talking points from the Dems about cuts to Social Security are a joke. Same with old people will be thrown out of nursing homes. The published numbers seem to vary from 25%-40% of retired people are living on just SS. Can you imagine the political outrage if those folks became indigent? We can send $Billions to Ukraine but can’t deliver on our elder care to which folks have been taxed their entire working lives? At some point folks are going to start recognizing blatant lies & scare tactics by the Dems

$420m cut by DOGE in its first week, because Elon is a troll and life, even government, is all about making dumb jokes. This from the guy who definitely didn't think it would be funny to make people believe he was doing a neo-nazi salute. They had 2 months to plan this out and this paltry amount is what they hit the ground running with. Hopefully, they were scaling back to make the joke and not scaling up.

LOL. Nobody despises the government enough until they itemize the $420m in DOGE cuts? I hate the government and it's because I know $420m is such a small amount that it's nothing to get upset about. If your households spends $100k/yr with $60k income, that would represent about $6 spent. Imagine freaking out about $6 but not the $100k

a little here, a littler there adds up. As time goes on it will add up to more and more. I am for getting rid of waste no matter how much or little it is. What ticks me off about this is how much of this $420m is ending up in someone's pockets allowing them to live a high end lifestyle off the back of the taxpayer.

my understanding is they don't have the power to cut anything. and these are all recommendations. if that is the case then it is really "none" that is being cut.

I don't think the mechanism for the actual cutting has ever been explained.
