But I think the media attention is certainly warranted. If this was done behind closed doors and without public knowledge/input, you wouldn't even have seen a fraction of what's been stopped.

To me, this was and is the only way it could have been pulled off. Remember the WaPo talking about "democracy dies in darkness." Yeah, same thing here.

I also appreciate the approach. Slashing .gov spending in any appreciable fashion is going to result in the slaughter of some sacred cows. We need a sociopathic billionaire who doesn't feel pain, empathy or remorse to wield the blade.

Because we've raised it with him and his boss several times and it doesn't change. The average government employee thinks of their job, time, and convenience, no matter what.

OK. So how do you NOT politicize it? By just saying that we are eliminating Y? Problem there is that the American public has the collective memory of a sand flea and wouldn't know who it was that brought us such looney ideas. They need to be reminded often.

Yeah I want it politicized and often! America needs to know how radical the leftist in this country are. And then they need to bury the modern Democrat party by abandoning them in favor of a new Democrat party that doesn’t hate our country so much they feel the need to fundamentally transform it.

Globally Soros has been much more influential than Musk......... Hell he has a 30+year head start and has bought (to varying degrees) leaders, both elected and appointed around the world including the US. This is akin to focusing on the tick and calling it corrupt while ignoring the dog it's attached to.

I'm not sure I buy any of this but it appears the Soros/globalists agenda may be what Trump and his appointee Elon are trying to dismantle.

Again I'm not buying any of it yet, I need actual receipts and that will take months and years of investigation I would imagine. If there's any real meat on the bones we should start to develop some idea soon though right?

Until then I'm an open minded skeptic.

This is true, people do not trust the government........ Trump is a part of that now though. So best bet is to not get too excited and wait to make sure this isn't some dog and pony show.

Marco Rubio says that preliminary inquiries were made into USAID programs so the Admin could determine how to proceed. He also says those inquiries were stonewalled. That, in turn, led to the complete disruption of ALL programs because ALL funding was halted in order to stop fraud/programs not supported by this Admin.

Assuming Rubio was correct, this seems to be an instance of entrenched bureaucracy thinking this Administration was more of the same, when it is not. Some of the hurt being experienced may have been avoided but for agency lack of cooperation with the Administration. As much as I hope this Admin will cut wasteful spending, I hope we can at least get back to quickly funding things that the vast majority of Americans think are worthy of funding.

This is crazy, if these "leaks" are true this is discussion engineering on a global scale with many "reputable" companies and implies them knowing engagement. Many wealthy.... Powerful people are going to be upset they have been exposed.

Not to mention the CIA involvement implied as well. If true how long do we think Trump really lasts?

Again if true this is great for Americans to know but at the same time this diminishes our standing among allies and partners as they become collateral damage no?

lol tracking that stuff down is just a waste of time. both sides are set in their way, neither side is going to change their mind on something just because they found out this program started under President Biden vs President Trump.

I thought DOGE was about efficiency? You are making it about revenge or some political goal.
