Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

If we are going down medical route, I would jump into Medicare and Medicaid first. They are something like 60% of our total Federal Budget combined. They are by far the biggest budgets. Makes USAID look like pocket change.

Not sure if there is any fraud, waste, etc. there but it is definitely the big spending impact.

If they’re going after fraud there they better make sure it’s actual fraud.

Yeah, he goes to insults pretty quick. It is funny to see how much he cares about protecting veterans which also happens to protect his team's/company's contracts. Even if he is sincere, it still just looks like the old NIMBY reactions aka cuts are good everywhere that don't directly affect me.
He's right, I am an idiot. He's not getting his info from a bureaucrat, he is the bureaucrat. 😅

Republicans have the house, the senate and the presidency. It's time to put their money where their mouth is. Instead we're digging deeper into debt and increasing defense spending.

They are putting their money where their mouth is.

The issue is the money is from Palantir, Northrup, Lockheed, Boeing, RTX, etc....

Job slashing and $$$ cutting is supposed to be the change after the audit. A product of the results. This ain't a damn reality TV show. It's disasterous with this hastily schemed process. The conclusions and accusations are ridiculously immature and incompetent.

BTW, Musk has no expertise at this. He's never done it before. Plus, the insane conflict of interest with him driving it
Nobody else has done it either. That's why we have trillions in debt.

I'm at least willing to give them a chance. Hopefully they can shut down some of the useless bureaucracies that are strangling us

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
Never, and I do mean never, solve a problem you can campaign on. Both sides regularly have control and both sides are still arguing about the same issue from 40 years ago.
This is just more of the same…..political theater

This will probably get called a dumb question, but what would happen if the US decided not to pay out internal debt, it all out debt? How would it effect the general population?
If you just look at immediate people effects, the more money you have, and the older you are, the more US bonds you own. So retirees get stiffed most. Pension funds and insurance funds would also get stiffed.

I guess it should be obvious but all stealing is like taxation in that you can only steal productivity from people who are productive. That is the best fundamental way to understand life itself. Money is imaginary but work is very real. It takes work to meet human needs. Taxation is really about taking some of your work.

I never dreamed I'd see "liberals" going to bat for Big Government and wasteful spending. Of course, the Green People now hate the man who made EVs a reality, so who knows...
Saw and older lady driving a Tesla down the interstate the other day. The back bumper had a Anti-Elon sticker. It’s a great time to be alive.

If you think that is something, just wait until you see how they cheerlead for our involvement in foreign wars!

Yeah but this time we have an autistic athiest South African with 483 kids running the show so you just know it's all Jesus-approved! Don't think we aren't all "intellengent" enough to see how much better it'll be this time.

Love the current time of those mad at the messenger and not the message.
What is the message, exactly? If the message is "we cut $2B in PowerPoint and notetaking contracts", well, I've got some news for you. They've already contacted about half of the "notetaking" contract holders to rescind terminations and try to get teams back online to start next week. If the "message" turns out to be a lie, then what?
