Absolutely not forgetting Paulk. Hoping his ACL rehab is on pace to have him ready by summer workouts. Hurd, Paulk, and Scott could be comparable to Lewis, Henry, and Stephens. Adding these three along with Lane and Pickett has me ready to see the Vol's running game take off this year.

Old enough to remember Charlie? I remember Haskell Stanback, Kelsey Finch and Johnny Jones. Sure there are plenty of guys that will remember a generation of RBs earlier than these.

Just tired of the Negavol crap...You guys always go to such extremes to prove that we will suck instead of being a FAN....and supporting progress
Im Proud to be to "sensitive" about supporting the Vols, and done with the negativ..we will go 4-8 this year stuff.
Find a team you can get behind or whatever
Ill continue to support the Vols and won't look for all the reasons we will suck

I've never really visited rival boards before, but considering we beat SC on the field and for '14 RB Derrell Scott, I decided to have a look at how the Cocks were holding up...

I have to say, there are some really, really butt-hurt Cock fans!!

Before the announcement, they were talking about how incredible this guy is and how he should know he is SC's #1 RB priority, due to lack of other position recruits. Some commented that he could be 1 of the top 10 SEC backs ever!

Well, I hope he does become one of those top SEC back of all-time.

It's amazing how short a fan's memory can be when they don't get what they want or expect. I'm sure similar things happen at every fan base.

Once they learned he is headed to UT, many SC fans began talking about how he chose UT because he was promised a starting role. They pointed out that they are so stacked at RB that Scott would likely not see meaningful playing time until 2016!

After choosing the Vols, he became too little, under-powered, and a situational back only. Some said he would never see time as SC's premier back, but could easily do so at UT.

Others talked about how C Butch Jones is a dirty liar, using deceptive recruiting techniques, even questioning Spurrier's age.

Memories are short indeed, as evidenced by some fans wondering how the perennial-power Cocks could lose to the 'cellar-dweller' Tennessee Vols.

It's not that they have forgotten who won the latest contest(ok, it is, a little), it's that they seem to think the Cocks were always bigger and better than UT! I'm sure they realize by now that they are stiff competition for anyone, but forgetting how soft and impotent they were for so many years is something I didn't think I'd see.

I enjoyed seeing those fans scramble for excuses. Probably because it is a Spurrier coached team.

After seeing some of their comments, it became clear just how much joy I might get by seeing Abu Lamin or another one of their recruits flip to UT on or before NSD.

I do have to say, for all the excuses and sour grapes, there were a few upstanding Cocks who were rational and showed a lot of respect for Scott and Tennessee. Those Cocks wouldn't bend or give excuses. Some of them were even quick to keep their fellow Cocks in line. They even pointed out how warped some of the Cocks had become with the excuses being thrown around.

Sore-butt or classy, one thing all Cocks seem to agree on is the idea that they will beat our Vols 77-0 next year (some act as if they did that in the most recent game).

After everything, it seems this turned into a pretty good recruiting battle between the Cocks & Vols.

It's called synergy......the interaction of multiple elements in a system to produce an effect different from or greater than the sum of their individual effects. Hurd+Scott+Lane+Paulk=a very big orange multiple brick wall of points. North+Malone+Pearson+Wharton at WR..... Helm+Wolf as an effective, versatile set of blocking and receiving TE's. Add Creamer+Howard in the slot (don't count out the Pig) along with at least one of our current QB's rounding out their game, then it's palpable to forsee how capable this upcoming group is going to work out at placing the Vols near the top of the SECe in '14 and, with Butch's formula, looking at owning the SECe pretty soon and potentially shooting for the NC in a couple-or-so years. Subjective as it may be; here's to believin' fellow Vol lifers (I'm holding up a bottle of Stella Artois)! :salute::salute::salute::salute::salute:!

Those much-sought-after recruits don't really want to play in gangstah land Columbia, SC at the 10th best stadium in the SEC for a bitter old has-been who badmouth's his players, then starts them while they're hurt etc., etc., etc., so it won't surprise me tomorrow when I'll get those cock lovin' wearers of garnet and black cussin' at me behind my back as I don my black and orange power "T" cap in the feed store. If Butch and crew can keep our current commits and hopefully add Adoree, then we Vol faithful should consider the freshmen class of 2014 to be the most significant group to wear those white helmets with those great big orange "T"'s on them since the group that won it all in '98. Come on, Mr. Jackson. You've gotta' know there's no other place. Let's all sing Rocky Top come NSD! VFL!:clapping:
