Deshields #3 overall pick to Chicago

Shoni and Raigyne were both waived today to make room for Kelsey and Kayla, so Jaime's chances of making the final roster are looking pretty good right now.

Las Vegas is at 13 players, including Izzy. I don't know what the WNBA rule is for carrying injured players, and if they count for the 12. But I'd say Jaime's sitting pretty right now.

Shoni is such a disappointment. She wasn't disciplined enough to put the cheeseburger down in exchange for a pro career, so she really has no one to blame but herself.

There was no doubt in my mind that Jaime would make the roster because she plays how Bill likes his Wings to play. She gives it everything she has when she is on the floor and that's what he likes which is surprising to me why isn't in his plans but I think that is more so by default unfortunately.

He had no choice but to draft A'ja Wilson and it hurt Izzy imo because Wilson had to start as well (she's the #1 overall pick and ownership wants her in the game). Instead of playing Izzy at the 5 bill has had a history of not starting anyone smaller than 6'5"at the 5 unless he has had to.

Look for Izzy to be traded next off-season to a team looking for a 4 player or a team willing to play her at the 5.

I think Minny look to add her next off-season to replace Brunson (who I think finally retires after this season)

Right now Isabelle is not part of the roster, so Vegas can carry the players they have until she comes back.

Diamond Scores 19 in a OT loss to storm

I haven't watched any games, but from the box scores it looks like Gabby Williams is really struggling to adjust to the WNBA. She might need more time, or she might be in over her head. I agree with the poster who said that they should be starting Parker instead. Right now, they are getting nothing from their front court. Even Dolson has been a non factor thus far.

The Liberty activated Kia Vaughn today and "released" Mercedes Russell. I've never seen the use of the term "released" instead of "waived". Does anyone know if there is a difference?

She shouldn’t be starting at the 4 in the league imo, she should be coming off the bench at the 3 spot (or starting at the 3 spot) and playing the 4 if they go to small ball!

I’ve watched a few of their games and their coach doesn’t seem to be interested in the team (just my perception) wouldn’t be surprised if she leaves after this season

When Vandersloot returns the lineups should be;
Starters/Bench
PG-Vandersloot/Faulkner
SG-Quigley/Copper/Harper
SF-DeSheilds/Gabby Williams
PF-Cheyne Parker/Bulgat
C-Stephanie Dolson/NDour/Coates

If she is waived she must wait 48 hours betore she can sign with anyone else as teams from the lowest record (standings) last season to the highest can put in a claim for her and she must go to the team who claims her

By being released she’s free to sign with anyone!

She played decent and Indiana was high on her in the draft and they need size (along with Seattle) so I don’t expect her to be out of the league long (at least I hope I am right)

You’re referencing the game at home against MSST. I couldn’t believe Russell just stood there and was allowed to stay in the game. She completely quit on the play and no one on the bench seemed to care.

And I thought the play being referenced was against South Carolina where she did the standard throw the hands in the air, the it wasn't me reaction, after a defensive play.
