Details on Pearl Saga

I don't believe what's posted in the OP.

You don't believe it or you don't want to believe it?

I don't see why it's not possible or even likely this is the case. I don't for a minute think the NCAA would really give a damn about a cook out violation. I know there's a sentiment among many here that, given two viable options regarding Pearl, the most negative one is the truth, but it says something about the veracity of the OP's post that he was one of the leaders of the I hate Pearl crew and he finds this story credible.

Mostly, I'm just pissed that the best coach in our history is no longer here due to fairly weak reasons.

How is one more negative than the other? Both hinge upon a coach blatantly lying to the enforcement guys at the NCAA and getting caught. There isn't a good way to couch it.

That's ultimately the cold, hard truth.

Then, why not believe it? Yes, it all ends the same, but I'm not understanding the need to believe in the most negative angle possible. I mean, one side he's at least someone with a conscience.

Anyway, he's still gone; it still stinks and we are now stuck with projects from Nigeria and some Reece kid who picked us over James Madison.

BPV and LV will be the ones to scream the loudest now that they have what they want.

Makes sense by reading posts here and by the collective IQ's in TBA the past couple years.

It don't take an econometrician to be able separate the Bruce Pearl effect from the Skylar McBee effect.

Pretty sure a nuanced position is possible. Not all of us were hollerin for Skahlar to shoot it. I can wish Pearl was still coach w/o having blindly endorsed his every decision.

Again, I don't understand how one is more negative than another. In one instance, everyone just lied after being caught off guard. In the other, our head coach premeditated. How is that a better angle on the same transgression? Both suck and both are over a minimal offense if we don't do something stupid.

If you're trying to say that Pearl, Jones and Co are something other than this episode touches on, save your air because that's crap. If you're saying that this episode is now better because our coach "was only looking out for his staff" good for you. I'm saying the other route was better because at least he was surprised.
