Did Cutler quit?

The talking heads are talking and taking tweets from a bunch of self aggrandizing buffoons without giving this much thought.

Personally, I think Cutler is a moronic douchebag, but that doesn't change that he was pulled from the game because he couldn't plant on his lead leg. Every ball he threw after the injury was a back foot job and not all were pressured.

This is all just media fodder and some guys taking a moment for the camera. The guys being sensible about how a competitor would approach a game like this don't get airtime. The guys willing to be controversial morons get their names on Mike and Mike and the like.

His teammates are not. Check out the comments from Urlacher that justin mentioned. If the guy couldn't go, he couldn't go. The people in the best position to evaluate that seem to be supportive.

And what do you really expect them to say?

Tell Urlacher to get another Pam Anderson tattoo...

Deion spent his MLB offseason playing NFL football...unless your daughter is Becky the Icebox O'Shea, I'd shut up.

Deion actually said he doesn't question the injury, just Cutler's heart. Schlereth joined in and said they'd have to remove him on a stretcher.

Not sure I understand the commentary in light of no information besides the very obvious fact that he couldn't plant his front leg whatsoever.

It's not like the guy has some demonstrated unwillingness to take a beating. Good Lord, he played at Vandy and now plays for one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen.

I don't know that there is an expectation about what they might say in this instance, but I damn well know that they know more about the situation than any of the idiots on sports talk shows this morning.

Dan Patrick is being very fair.

I agree with what he said, he messed up by not acting more hurt and acting so disinterested in the game after the injury.

That you are very correct about.

Apparently Urlacher has had a small "change in heart" since Cutler became a teammate, funny how that works.

Exactly. No reason to keep a guy out there who can't get any zip on throws, and get him more beat up in the process.

that's probably true, but who in the hell is worried about how distraught he looks while his outfit is playing for a title and he doesn't get to do his thing?

Dan's got a point. If he limps off with a grimace after a hit, never to return, this isn't a conversation. Instead, it appears he tried to play through it but couldn't.

It would have been very easy to say nothing. I'd say Urlacher calling somebody one of the toughest guys on the team is pretty strong testament.

ever see deion tackle someone...best shut down corner ever but dude would not hit or tackle anyone that was my point

I'll see him in Canton very shortly...not sure when Cutler's statue is being built. All I'm saying is that the dude is going to the HOF, it couldn't have been that damn bad.

Honestly, his medical staff didn't do him any justice. No ice, no aircast, nothing. Cutler's walking around, riding bikes...no one was buying what he was selling, and rightfully so.

How do you know how severe the injury was/is?Sounds to me like Cutler either beat you up and took your lunch money back in the day or had sex with your wife with all the hate you're spewing towards him.

Cutler quit, as usual. It's the NFC Championship for God's sakes...there is no tomorrow. If you are fine enough to walk around, ride the bike, walk around more, and as usual pout all day, get your silly *** in the game.

Everyone who is involved with the "League" is just thrashing him.

I tore my acl playing, and I was able to do all of those things. As soon as I tried to cut or do anything athletic, however, buckle. MCL would affect his cutting and planting every time he dropped back. I don't like the dude, but come on.

I've never been a fan of Cutler. Even if he was legitimately hurt, I have no respect for the kid.

and I don't think he cares about respeck, particularly yours or mine. He handles the media like the douchebags they are and he gets ripped every time they have the chance.

Maybe you can get in touch with Jones-Drew or Dockett and they can Tweet your feelings on how you don't respect Cutler.

wouldn't have mattered had he grimaced more often and looked like a bad soap opera actress.

exactly.. A guy walking around testing his knee and riding a bike trying to stay loose definitely says "i don't want to play anymore"

The way Lovie and his teammates are putting the situation is that the doctors said no. At that point, Cutler doesn't really have a chance. Does kind of piss me off that Schlereth would say something. He's becoming more and more of a douche every day. Two years ago he was the best ESPN had for the NFL minus Clayton.

and then of course after they went to the 3rd stringer Cutler was effectively no longer on the roster. NFL rules prohibited him from playing.
