Lol, reminds me of a funny exchange with Hopson from a few years back.

Communications 419 with Mrs. Wright... She asked the class how they were going to use their communications degree and Hopson says "Well, once I retire from da league... I wanna get into broadcasting and do NBA games"

half of the class laughed

How is the goal of getting to the league funny? Hes at a big time university on scholarship. I hope his goal is to retire from the league. Anything else i would criticize him for.

I'm not disputing that this was his best chance to get drafted but not his best chance to make a roster. Derrick rose is laughing at your assumption that he can't get better in a year. See his shooting improvement from 3 pt range. Dribbling could be fixed in a year as well if he has the dedication. If he improves those areas then his chance at making an NBA team during camp exponentially increases. Those improvements will take work ethic so theres automatically an improvement in that. I wish him the best of luck however this is no ones fault but his own. Like I said, you are assuming as much as I am and have nothing to back up your claim of im wrong. You simply disagree with my assumptions. In fact you'll never prove me wrong and I'll never prove you wrong. So again mrs Cleo; get off the high horse. Thank you sir.

What's with all of the cute names you keep calling me? Just because somebody recognizes your posts as nonsense doesn't mean they are psychic or egotistical. Derrick Rose seems to have been selected pretty high even though he couldn't shoot. Where was he when that year to year improvement occur? How much did that correctable weakness in his game affect his desirability? Maybe he should have stayed at Memphis another season to work on it.

Griff also says he'll make a roster.

The local paper interviewed his mother, who said he has tryouts scheduled with two teams and has calls from several others.

Eh, I still don't see him making a roster.

What? Is listing every assumption the guy made followed by, "I think this is wrong," really unclear?

LOL an explanation of WHY you think it is wrong, rather than just saying "I think this is wrong". Back up your claims as to why you disagree

I"m telling you he can't improve his game in the areas that matter. You are simply arguing and calling names because I told you that you are wrong. That doesn't change the fact that you are wrong. This was Scotty's best chance to be drafted. It is his best chance to catch on in the league even though he wasn't. Failing that, he is better off playing in Europe next year, making money, and trying to get in through that door than returning to a mess of a UT program only to have the same problem next season.

So, your position is that if you aren't good enough as a junior, throw in the towel and quit? I disagree with that approach. Hopson should have returned to the college game, worked like a madman to get better in all phases, and then played like a man that wanted it next season. Now, he can only hope for a miracle.

Five days and that is the response? Just take the opposite of the assumptions I identified as incorrect and pretend I said they were correct.

Can't remember where I said that, either.

:lolabove: I laughed when you said he was in a 400 level class in communications

Not sure. I've heard that he was on track to graduate early, but I'm not sure how reliable that info is. He couldn't be that far off if he took 12 hours every Spring and Fall in addition to summer school for 3 years (he probably started before his first Fall semester, right?).

If I remember from an interview with Martin he said Scotty was in New York working out and this was in March. So that means he stopped going to class. That doesn't sound like a good student to me.

Touché. Just because I'm a Hopson homer, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Can't really argue against you though :)
