Did Tee Martin influence Adoree Jackson to take us out of the picture?

Guess that means Tommy Thigpen can't recruit against UNC, Willie Martinez can't recruit against Miami and Robert Gillespie can't recruit against Florida.

Because then, if they do, VN will have an indignant fit about them not being honorable graduates of a school they haven't been affiliated with in years.

Y'all know it's possible to recruit a kid to your school without ever saying a negative word or even any word at all about another school, fight?

For all you jerks bashing the OP...I think there is a major difference in "Selling" the school you work for to recruits, and bashing your Alma Mater. I think what the OP is saying is he believes Tee is going out of his way to negatively recruit against UT. I don't know if he is or isn't. But I think it is not crazy to think he does. I love the approach our staff is taking in not negative recruiting against other schools. And I think the kind of recruits, and the parents that like that approach, are the kind of folks we want representing UT. I don't blame Tee for doing his job to the best of his ability, but...IF...he is dragging UT through the mud to do it...then screw him.

Accept the fact that some ex Vols aren't VFL.

Tee Martin is most definitely a VFL---a highly decorated one at that, one who led us on the field to our only national championship in many decades.

Let's turn the situation around a little bit. Our current running backs coach was a decorated Florida Gator and a big part of his JOB is to try and convince prospective recruits to come to Tennessee instead of Florida. Is he throwing his beloved Gators "under the bus" in doing so? Only if he is conniving behind the scenes and telling lies about his alma mater in the process. I don't believe Tee Martin is doing that at all, his alleged comments about Jalen Hurd notwithstanding.

If the circumstances were ever right and Tee Martin wanted to come back here to coach, I would be all for rolling out the red carpet. The University of Tennessee owes him a lot!

Rivals has Adoree recruited by Tee Martin.

I would have NEVER thought Tee capable of purposefully throwing his alma mater under the bus, but my opinion on Tee greatly changed when he was hating on Jalen Hurd on NSD.

Any thoughts?

Just because he questioned Hurd doesnt make him any less of a Vol in my opinion

Jackson committed USC, dad committed to LSU so it goes, so even though A Jackson did commit to USC, Tee didn't do a great job.

Yes, my thought are that Tee may have turned to dislike U.T. after the incident happened about him supposedly getting money while in college.

It had something to do with an automobile repair bill. Can't remember the exact specifics though.

Well, after that story was make headlines in the newspapers, Dickey wouldn't allow Tee on the sidelines for games. He had to sit in the stands. He was in the first few rows of the stands but non the less he wasn't able to stand on the field. Per Dickey.

This may have hurt his pride. "I helped them win a National Championship and they treat me this way"

Just a thought!!!!!!!!!!!!! I may be way off in my thinking.

I do think he no longer likes U.T. though because he used us to get a free trip to Knoxville and met with bUTch, then saw his son play a game in Knoxville then had no intention of coming to our coaching staff.

My guess is that everytime that he has an opportunity to stick it to us, then he will do so.

Yes, 2, 1, and 0 star players will consistently go for that.

The point here is, Tee did what the majority of recruiters do. He worked for the other guys. Had he lauded the UT instead and gotten fired as a result, you who spew spite at him now, would never have offered one copper cent to provide for his family with him out of work.

Sometimes the behavior I see by Vols fans makes me ashamed to be a Vol. But then I remember, it's the team I love and am loyal to, not the fans.

Tee Martin is NOT a VFL..

He has proved that many times over the past 4-5 years. .

Personally I have him wrote off..people can try to defend him all they want, it will not change anything.

And the UT does not pay his bills argument does not hold water..

UT does not pay Manning's bills... UT does not pay Berry's bills

They still represent the university with class, and will do anything they can to help us succeed. While Martin would like nothing else then to see us fail, all because he didn't have a limo waiting for him at the airport along with other nonsense.

Manning nor Berry work for another college.

I don't forsee this happening, but if Manning came back to college as a coach and was hired by South Carolina I would fully expect him to recruit against us. (Though this scenario obviously won't happen)
