I agree we need a playoff, never will happen though as long as they keep selling out the bowls, I give the nod to UT, only undefeated team, beat 4 or 5 bowl teams.

In a good conference such as the SEC or Big 12, Utah would have lost at least 2 games probably 3.

There were LOTS of empty seats at most of the bowl games. The BCS games were full, but some of the others were far from it.

Oregon is ranked #10 in the final ap poll.
As badly as I believe the SEC sucked this season, there were at least 3 teams in the conference, besides UF, that could have handled all three of those outfits.

its really hard to think that USC is not the best team when they manhandle anything that matters... I dont think it would have been a question if we would have just had a playoff system
Oregon State disagrees. In fact, OrSU had to choke away the conference to allow USC into the Rose Bowl.

The way they played the last two months of the season, Ole Miss would hammer the life out of Oregon.

So would Ole Miss, but when you put USC in the spotlight against Florida/Oklahoma/Texas you cant help but think that USC will put on a show
you said USC handles anything that matters. The OrSU game clearly mattered and they didn't handle it.

good thread.

the BCS got it right. you'd have a hard time convincing me of any reason why FLorida is less deserving than anyone else mentioned, SC included.

that said, i didn't see anything from either team last night that gets me to think they could beat USC.

as for Utah.....enjoy the top 3, and quit whining. you are left out because you don't play a big boy schedule in your conf. beating what now looks to be a bit overrrated Bama team in a bowl is a nice accomplishment but doesn't equal the body of work that FL or USC put together over the course of the season.

and as for TX, OSU or PSU.........i just dont think any of those teams had quite the horses. TX would have gotten massacred by USC or FL.......and we know how the Big 10 does in title games.

in the end, i'd still like to see FL play USC. and barring any major defections this year, that's the match up likely to be seen in Jan 2010 for the NT.

it's time these two teams play each other.

The SEC has won 5 of the 11 BCS Championships. Florida is the best team in the country.

UF would smoke Utah! win by at least 3 TD's. If Utah played in the SEC they would not even be talked about.

OU would murder TX in a rematch as well. That was one of their worst games of the season against a very weak defense.

I don't. The previous two years people have slobbered over USC beating Big 10 second place teams while UF and LSU ran through the Big 10 champs. This year, they got matched up against the worst of all the 11-1 teams.

SC seems to always lose a game they shouldn't. You could say that about a lot of teams(florida losing to miss). Cue jim mora
