I'm not sure why people are upset.

That being said, a 5-6 season could be the 2nd best thing to happen to the program (I know it sounds weird). From the looks of it, fans will now be more PUMPED and get wayyyyyy louder than they have been the last 5 years or so. THAT HELPS.

It seems the coaches and players are more determined than they have been this century.

I think the nation might need to watch out.

For UT fans as myself who have been around longer, it use to be a mad house to play at Neyland for a visiting team.No more.We have got to get the intimidation home field advantage back and that starts against Cal.As far as Fowler goes, I sometimes think that stuff is rehearsed, staged, kind of like a soap opera.

This is all great stuff. I hope every Cal player heard Fowler say that and came away believing they can walk on water... they'll be stepping out of the boat on Saturday...

He said that Neyland isn't a home field advantage, as the Vols have been blown out there plenty of times in the past few years... the only blowouts I know of are by UGA. :the_finger:
I guess you didn't see the 2002 Alabama and Miami games.

I'll be there and yelling, screw Chris Fowler.....I will say this though, we need to make Neyland a more intimidating place to play again.....Team used to dread coming to play us, now they just don't like playing because its loud....It's still a pretty intimidating place to play though....GO VOLS!!!!!

The fans have done as much as fans can do to make Neyland difficult. The teams led largely by Sanders and Clausen simply haven't been up to the task of beating the really good teams they played.

Executing plays is alot more important than fans making noise.

The thing I love about Cut's return is that he is an execution and details freak. Fulmer said as much recently and that it contributed to their constructive disagreements and philosophical differences. Fulmer wants a more multiple look. Cut wants to execute well.

Cut.... is right.

For those who didn't hear the aforementioned Fowler reference, allow me to paraphrase:

"The Vols's homefield advantage is overrated. They've been blown out plenty of times at home recently."

Let's prove 'em wrong Saturday night. My roommate and I are leaving Nashville at 8am, and we're going to be lathered up and ready to yell come 5:30pm.

Cal is NOT going to be ready for Rocky Top.
Fowler's a dufus. EVERYONE talks about the intimidation factor at Neyland stadium.

His choice of words seems sketchy, "overrated" a simple "sub par at home recently" would have gotten the point across with out pissing us all off. When I first saw it I was mad yes, but what do you expect from that guy anymore. He loves seeing us fail, so therefore if we win and the cat can't help to talk about us every week about Tennessee's "Vast Improvement", We need to win because we need GAMEDAY at Neyland this year. Unless the have already have the games set out. In that case make them cover us at the NC.

Fulmer is the one who is something like 0-5 vs top 10 teams at home this decade. Until that changes, be prepared to hear more.

Fowler, is simply stating the obvious. UT hasn't been very good at home against highly ranked teams this decade. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at Fulmer.

It's sort of like getting mad at the weatherman when he tells you that it's raining.

They should play a prank on Corso where they remove all No. 2 pencils from the set. That would be hilarious.
