Die on the Chick-Fil-A Hill?

Kids are expensive as hell. I'm in the middle of buying one of grandkids a play toy that I never could have had in my childhood. It's nice to be able to buy your grandkid something you always wanted but couldn't have.
Unfortunately my play toys now have engines and tires, and they ain't cheap.

Me, wife, and both kids are just like 72..no thanks if it swims. Hate the smell of fish...especially when cooking it.eeewww

I'm breaking all kinds of rules here, so you can expect the fish snobs to attack me after I suggest this to you. But go to restaurant that has ahi tuna and get it pan seared and cooked medium. The snobs are going to kill me because you are "supposed to" eat it either raw (like in sushi) or rare-medium if cooked.

But, if you do that and just get it cooked blackened or garlic butter or something basic, then group that with sides/veggies that you would normally get with a steak, I think you will change your mind about some seafood offerings... or at least ahi tuna.

I had it like that at Mama's Fish House on the Island of Maui. It was fine for something that lived underwater.

I think for most non-fish people, it is about the texture of the meat. Ahi tuna, if cooked like I suggested, would give you texture (somewhat) similar to roast beef.

What I had looked like a filet. It had some creamy side sauce with it that had a tangy taste.

Yeah, the sauces and tangy stuff you are talking about is what I'm saying you need to do without. Just have it cooked like you would a steak... about as plain as you can get.

Good Lord. I hate to see what a glass of tea would cost w/a meal.
Did you see the awards on their website? Trip Adviser: Top 10 Fine Dining in U.S., and number 2 on open dining from somewhere. You can charge high prices if you are nationally known and on Maui. I wouldn't want to go often. Ten bucks for a cup and a half of estate coffee pressed and brewed at your table. LOL!

I have been a bachelor all week with the wife out of town. Just fixed a salad, and have a small Digiorno pizza in the oven. It don't get no better than this.
