Die on the Chick-Fil-A Hill?

20 years. I live outside the town in the boonies. Born and raised in Middle TN though.
I got to know one of my competitors that was located in Columbia, Bill Baldwin. Really nice guy. He and I struck up a friendship at a show back in the early 2000s. He has since sold his company.

What was his company?

It's certainly an interesting business model. I'd tend to think most fast food restaurants would think them crazy for not opening on Sunday, but they make up for it the other six days.

Now, of only the one close to my office would hurry up with its renovation...

I was just north of Cincinnati yesterday having a CFA craving so I pulled off when I saw one. They had a freeking cop out there directing traffic into and out of the store, traffic was backed up into the street. Had to go on into KY to find one I could get into.

I never go through the drive thru. Always go inside.

You have the app? It's awesome and I'm surprised more people seemingly don't use it. Have your order punched in in advance on the app, and when you're a few minutes out from the restaurant, send it. 95% of the time it is sitting on the to-go counter when I walk into the restaurant, sometimes I'll have to wait another minute or two. Your payment info is in the app, and you just walk in, grab your food, and walk out. They also randomly send you free food and you accumulate points that go towards food. Most of the time when I go in there, even if it is extremely busy, there aren't many people waiting around the to-go counter.

I may give it a whirl, but if I'm heading there for lunch, it's kind of a "break time" from the office so I don't mind the wait.

Great revenues, but the company is quite restrictive on operators in several ways.

Restrictive they may be, but you cannot doubt their success.

Sometimes you need some stringent rules in order to perform. I'd think this is a good example of stringent regulations making a business highly successful.

IMO, their restrictive nature is why they're so successful. They retain ownership and don't put units seemingly on every street corner.

As an operator, you know that the place is going to be busting at the seams all the time. It's basically a license to print money.

Me, wife, and both kids are just like 72..no thanks if it swims. Hate the smell of fish...especially when cooking it.eeewww
