Disgraceful Officiating

I ain't one for conspiracies...The moon landing was real, the alien mummies in Mexico are fake, and the earth is round...but I'll be damned if the officiating at Tennessee games has heavily favored every single opponent so blatantly that it could only be an orchestrated effort. For what reasons? I dont know. Maybe the illuminati thought this years team would exceed the performance of last years team?

And that’s the question no one seems to be able to answer Why? If there’s a conspiracy against Tennessee by the officiating crew, then why? Someone needs to give a plausible answer other than “Because we’re Tennessee”

As the OP, I intentionally didn't lay blame on the refs for any win or loss. I was merely pointing out that the story written by A to Z Sports was a reminder to me of how the refs have called our games. I'm not saying it is a conspiracy either. I do think it is still worth pointing out the inconsistency of officiating in our games, even if it has been done countless times before. When outside agents like A to Z Sports and Gary Danielson are also pointing out those same inconsistencies, maybe it isn't just us VOLS fans simply looking through orange-colored glasses.

Probably why Baron trucked a ref for no reason a couple weeks ago. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see more of it. Tunnel screen should give us some opportunities

Someone is gonna lose it and get to a ref if this continues. Easy for a fan to get to one before security gets there if they want to bad enough. I am waiting for a few more to get taken out by a player. Players can send subtle messages as well.

I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Refs are an easy scapegoat for people who‘s default is to blame some external force for their misery, instead of just dealing with the harsh reality that the team has severely underperformed in the games people are citing as examples of a ref conspiracy.

Has nothing to do with being able to hold 2 opposing views
Yeah. Because that choke hold allowing a Bama TD which was one of many ignored holding fouls against UT's DL had no impact on the game, right? It doesn't matter if the other team holds you... you should just overcome it, right? It doesn't matter that a phantom defensive holding call gave Bama a first down, right? UT should have some how intercepted that ball thrown 20 yds out of bounds anyway...

You are getting MORE ridiculous than those claiming that the only thing that cost those games was poor officiating.

This isn't scapegoating or "default" blaming for an "external force". The officiating is part of the game. If biased as it has been this year it is VERY MUCH an INTERNAL force.

Do you REALLY not think that everyone should play by the same rules and have fair judges of the rules?

Me too but it will if they do not get it fixed. Maybe not our game but you see more fights in stands and people are just more angry period.
I was angry we could only score 7 points last week. This week I think we can score 14 to 21 points,

It's interesting you say that because you voluntarily offered a refutation for a point the op never made ...which is officiating cost us games. When I read your reply it seems like you are unable to separate the two ideas and therefore brought that to the conversation even when it wasn't mentioned by OP.

THE only thing I could think of is perpetuating the Georgia/Bama narrative to ensure 2 SEC teams in the CFB. But like I said, its too far fetched and the thing with conspiracies, especially large ones, is the more folks you have involved the higher chances of being found out are. And, in my professional assessment, that most people are stupid, a large conspiracy is pretty much an impossibility.

You can comment on a thread without directly addressing the OP…….it’s a sign of first rate intelligence 😀

The refs didn’t cause a total collapse in the 2nd half against Bama, the refs didn’t stop us from winning vs KY, and the refs didn’t sleepwalk for 4 quarters against Missouri and allow them to utterly embarrass us on national TV
No, but they allowed Bama hold like hell….. MO too

The refs did in fact cause what happened against Alabama. The rest is on the team.

...the refs didn't call a blatant hold against Tyler Barron when Bama scored their first TD in the second half. Whenever Tyler gets put in a headlock you A) know it won't get called. B) the other team is about to score.

and thats not to mention the bizarre call that put us at the 4 yard line to open the half. If TN gets just one score in the 3rd quarter it changes the dynamic of that game. View attachment 595696
