Disney: The Most Evil Business In The World

Those are immaterial blips compared to Disney but I know Busch has done the same thing Universal did in getting incentive boundaries drawn to cover their projects....
Legoland is a blip. Busch Gardens/SeaWorld tier 2 sure. But not a blip. Each independently, I can see the argument but they are the same company. Both just built new coasters that have made headlines.

Disney has already cut a bunch of jobs, so this threat of not expanding is just noise. Disney is mad because they're being treated the same as all other businesses with no special treatment.
Recently laid off 7K and stock has dipped below to when Bob Iger took over back in November.

Legoland FL is a cool park. Wife's former employer did all the nationwide incentives for Legoland so we have a forever pass there...

My point is he controls Disney, he isn't getting fired. Besides, you think Disney is going to sweat working through streaming? Pretty much all the media companies are struggling with stabilizing that revenue stream.

They're going to be streamlining operations and killing the excess fat for a couple of years. One example is the Star Wars Hotel. $5000 a couple for a 2 night stay (total immersion). 100 rooms, totally booked. But the manpower requirements are high making it difficult to scale up to larger size. It's profitable, but doesn't offer the return on investment Disney wants so it's getting terminated.

Doesn't sound like they're having revenue problems.

'I am paralyzed with fury': Disney faces OUTRAGE and cries of 'homophobia' after announcing plans to Remove more than 50 Shows and Movies from Hulu and Disney+ - including several LGBTQ-focused hits

  • Deadline reported that 58 titles will be leaving Disney+ and Hulu on May 26
  • Others are furious that they're removing LGBTQ+-focused content
Disney is facing furious fire after announcing that its getting ready to remove more than 50 different shows and movies from its streaming platforms.

Disney has not given a specific reason for its decision to remove the titles - claiming in a statement from its chief financial officer that it is part of 'strategic changes in its approach to content curation' - however many are speculating that the company is attempting to delete shows and movies that are no longer making them major profit.

Many online users voiced their disdain over the company taking down their favorite shows and movies - especially since some of them have only been out for a few months.

Some people also slammed Disney for removing LGBTQ+-related content - like the show Willow, which has multiple queer characters, and its documentary on Howard Ashman, a gay man who helped pen some of Disney's most well-known hits like Beauty and the Beast, Under the Sea, and Friend Like Me.

'Willow is one of their first LGBTQ+ projects,' someone else pointed out. 'Certainly sends the wrong kind of message in the wake of Disney's fight with DeSantis and anti-LGBTQ+ politics. Feels icky they're removing it and sort of caves to these bigots.'

I'd be interested in knowing what these "hits" were and what kind of ratings they had.

You know people can multitask right? He's not spending all his time fighting Disney. He's also banning gender surgeries on minors, signing forward school choice, having a great budget, focused on infrastructure the last few years, cleaning up porn in public schools, etc.

Did he veto a bad budget? Why does he get credit for this?

No. Disney interjected about a policy that does not affect their business. Disney made it about themselves and virtue signaling about wanting books with porn and sexual conversations with 7 year olds in a classroom. Which is a weird hill to die on.

In this situation Disney did not make it about DeSantis or Florida. Dumb journalists did. In a way, I feel bad for Disney in this situation.

Who fkn cares what Disney does? You guys hold a private corporation to a higher civic standard than elected officials. It's bananas

When the "woke" media caters to the "woke" companies and only covers one side of an issue, yeah, people should care.
