Well Kiffin was so well respected by other SEC coaches when he was our HC, why wouldn't he be respected now? /sarc

I guess I was just surprised, I figured everyone on a Saban staff would be pretty much "shut up and do your job before Nick turns you into an oatmeal cream pie"

It should be an interesting season at Bammerville. With the losses to the NFL and graduation,I think Bama falls to third in the SEC West. I think Alabama loses to Auburn,LSU and an upset loss to Ole Miss. 9-3 will upset the nuts in the Bammer Nation.

The guy is toxic. I can't see it ending well there either. Too many egos on that staff. Should be fun to watch it blow up in Saban's face.

I wonder if Kiffin will show videos of the Reggie Bush USC teams to show Bama what a real football team looks like.

In Kiffin's defense, he turned Crompton into a solid SEC QB.

I somewhat agree with that.

I think about 40% was the work Kiffin and staff put in with him, but the majority was simply sticking with the kid and letting him settle in rather than the sh*tstorm of shuffling QBs like UT had in 2008.

I wondering if Saban will be able to muzzle Kiffin. The local press is pretty subservient but one or two of them may try to get Kiffin to speak publicly

I couldn't imagine the reaction of Alabama fans if they lost more than a single game in the regular season much less if they went 8-4/9-3. I mean, they started killing each other over a single loss this year. What would happen if they lost two or more in the regular season?

Guide them to the most wins in the last 6+ years?

You are funny. He completely destroyed two recruiting classes which sent the program into a tailspin.

Then he got his dream job and lowered the expectations for USC. The only way he wins is by cheating, which might be an asset at Alabama.

Crompton was a highly rated QB coming out of HS. It's not like LK took a walk on and got him drafted. I think the light just finally came on around half time of the Auburn game.

In general LK gets too much credit as an offensive guru. He is average at best.

It's not like they haven't had 6,7, and 8 loss seasons before.

Fans memory only goes about two seasons back. All they see are championships and "why aren't we winning?"

Fan bases are fickle animals that have a hard time wrapping their head around "maybe someone out recruited us," "we got out coached" or just plain "bad luck." And if Saban was to drop more than two games next year, there will be a portion of their fans calling for his head. Not saying I agree, just the simple fact of something that "is"
