gu·ru

noun \ˈgu̇r-(ˌ)ü, ˈgü-(ˌ)also gə-ˈrü\ : a religious teacher and spiritual guide in Hinduism
: a teacher or guide that you trust
: a person who has a lot of experience in or knowledge about a particular subject

A dying breed.

I'm in college. Mainly post from my phone (probably in class or something), or on my computer when I should be doing hw/studying for something (like now)

I'm not talking about inheriting all your money. If you spend all your time posting on this site you can't be working. I can understand logging on and seeing if anything important has been posted, but usually it's just random bs like this topic. So how do you balance your workday with posting over a hundred times a day?

Define, "working?" I tend to believe I am multitasking. At least that sounds better if the boss asks me what I am doing. But lately the boss has given up and just asks me what is happening on VN. Then we talk about the vols for about 45 minutes while avoiding more, "work."

I've wondered the same thing.....I'm recently retired but prior to that since the internet became a routine part of work life my company monitored net personal usage.....in addition to phone and other activities....and it was used for disciplinary actions when required

I worked for a highly 'structured' company (one of worlds largest di/did some military and defense contract work) and at first we may have been among a few doing this but with the evolution of software I assume most companies did this..

I know for 20+ years I received a month end report that summarized all my employees activities....I'm sure somewhere, someone was doing the same for me...

So I don't get it?

The scary part about all this is that you are self employed.

I get paid $2.35 per post I do on VN. Thanks for starting this thread, it reminded me that Freak evidently has lost my address. I have not received my first check.
