If this holds and TAMU beats Texas, we will have played Georgia better in Athens than Texas did in Austin, and we would have played @ Vandy better than did Texas, isn't our resume better than that of Texas?

We are better off if Texas wins to eliminate any chance that TAMU jumps us.

I get that but we don't want to ADD more teams to the playoffs mix. If TAMU wins they can win the SEC and take an auto bid and now we have TAMU Texas and Georgia all ahead of us and we won't host a game

If they beat Texas but lose to Georgia, we are probably in better shape, assuming a 2-loss Texas team with no quality wins drops below us. They SHOULD, but this playoff committee is a wildcard, they don't seem to care about resume.

They are 5 because of automatic bids by conference winners. They were #2 in polls and will need to fall past 7 for Tennessee to pass in playoff seeds. I think the polls and committee will leave them ahead of UT and I bet at # 8 in playoff seeds and hosting Tennessee as #9

Why would they not? Time off loss matters. They would have no particularly good wins either.

Because aTm would lose to UGA in the SECC and have 3 losses and be out of the playoff.

Just because the CFP committee has biased towards OSU, UGA, Bama, ND

Bama is in that discussion only because of the fact that they WIN. The AP, and ESPN all have that old Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State bias. Them and Notre Dame, and USC. I would love to see how well ANY of those teams would do in the SEC, where even the worst team can knock the sh## out of you if you aren't looking. As for Notre Dame, they are always ranked high until they get their teeth kicked in.
