Do we open as favorites against Florida? (Updated, opens at UF-1, moves to UT-3)

Anyone who believes Tennessee wins this game easy and that this game will be anything but a dogfight is a fool. Florida is has talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

They probably have better talent right now than us, especially on both lines of scrimmage. We have the edge at quarterback and receivers. The running games are probably a push. We have the edge in coaching.

We can win the game, but it will be a fight.

Let's see. Georgia opened as 19 point favorites and won by 3. I hope this goes the same way with Florida opening as 1 point favorites,they should lose by 15 based on the Georgia game logic.

Therein lies the problem. You can't take logic from 2 different teams/games to make it fit another scenario. I'm sure you were just joking but too many people try to view things this way.

With Florida opening up as a 1 point favorite, I actually feel like Tennessee is getting some respect. This is only because of the past nine years. This is the game I had circled; the one that could make or break our season.

How would you bet this one? I personally would pick Florida if I was betting, because if the Vols lose, I get the money, but if they win, I would think of it as money well spent ilot:

I would never ever bet a UT UF game. Especially this one. You are pretty much having to bet straight up.

It's what I expected. I love our fight and talent but our depth and inexperience is an issue. Florida is talented but they have obvious problems.
This is definitely not a "gimme" like some are thinking and will be a fight.
I actually prefer to be the underdog in this one. I think the team plays with an edge because of it.

I count every game as a win.....until we lose. I already have Alabama chalked up as a win and UT finishing the regular season 10-2. I may or may not need to revise that after the game Saturday, but for now.......

I'd take UT and give the point.

If the line moved to UT -3 I still think that's a good bet. And while I think you win by even more than that amount, beyond 3 points its a little more scary, imo.
