Dobbs needs to be the starter

What is your opinion of the new o line that is charged with protecting the qb and blocking for the running game? Will they have an impact on the win/loss ratio?
My point is how defenses will find a scheme advantage against an immobile pocket passer in an offense that is predicated on the Read option. If we are going to go with such a passer, I'd rather see the staff shift to a more traditional pro-style alignment...which fits that QB better.

Worley is not the ideal fit for this offense, but I think they want experience more than they do a good scheme fit. We'll see if it pays off.

the OL should be nastier,I don't know if they will be better or not

them and the Defensive line will be the key to wins and loses this year

i just posted this,to give you fair warning

squirrel season starts soon after game day :hi:

Where are your FACTS... that Worley even runs that fast? Hmmmmm? Pull them out of thing air, or was it your arse?

Peyton Manning supposedly ran a 4.8 in college and he'd be the first to tell you he ain't a running threat. Worley is no more mobile than Tyler Bray was.

No more mobile than Bray? That's just not true.

...for this offense to really thrive. Under normal circumstances, I'd go with seniority/experience....and thus Worley, but Dobbs lets this offense open up, full-throttle.

Was reading this article, by Fox Sports, about Freshmen who could contend for the Heisman.
Cory McCartney: Frosh Perspective: First-year players that could vie for Heisman Trophy | FOX Sports

LSU's Fournette was one of them; Hurd was another. But the problem here is, not only do we have a new front 5 on the OL, but playing Worley allows defenses to really key in on Hurd.

Dobbs is our best chance to keep defenses honest, off balance and always guessing. So, if all things are relatively equal among the QB's, in the passing game....Dobbs has to be the starter.

The way I look at it is this...Dobbs, hands down, looked the best in the Spring. Did he separate himself in practice, before that? Probably not. But, again, in a game environment, he easily looked the best. Give him the starting nod, and if he struggles a lot, then you can put Worley or Peterman in.

Well, I don't think anyone would disagree that Dobbs is the best athlete of the trio. But based on the decision that was made on Wednesday/Thursday, it seems that Worley is the best Quarterback, at this time.

You point out that because of Worley's decreased athletic ability (in comparison), that defenses will key on our RB's. Well, that has been the case for 40 + years running out of the I formation. The fact that we run out of a different set these days, does not change that fact.

I think the true key to this decision is something Jones has said over and over again. A QB in this offense does not have to be the best athlete of the QB's available. They have to be the best field general. Worley is the best field general of the trio and the thing is, it has nothing to do with being a senior.

Worley, Dobbs, Peterman and Ferguson all started equal last year. None had ever seen or played this style of offense. Worley set himself apart of the other 3 last year and as Butch pointed out Thursday was 4 -2 in games he started and finished as a starter. He proved it on the field.

Worley balled out and had us right there in that Oregon game too.

The 2 TD 3 INT performance against S Alabama was astounding.

Truly, Worley is a difference maker.

Sarcasm aside, none of these QB's are gonna be more than marginal SEC starters and, behind a new offensive line, I don't even truly expect that.

He didn't start the season off well so what? But i do agree with.you. With this new OL its gonna be tough on them.

Idk, if the place i read it from is lying then why should i trust Dobbs 4.6? I know he's not a threat of running dude but to say hes slower than any lineman is stupid. You deserce a c'mon man! lol
