Dobbs Stats this season

He’s playing himself into a very long NFL career. Back up QB is the best job in the game.

Dobbs is a competitor. He isn't content with simply being a backup QB. He thinks he can be a top notch starting QB in the league. Stop trying to limit his ceiling at simply being a backup. He's proving right now he's a more than capable starter.

I’ll give D4H some credit here. If Dobbs continues to play like he has the last 2 1/2 games, he’s not just a good QB, but a great one.

I’ve watched just about every snap he has taken live this season, and even in their losses, he’s looked real good (he looked bad in week 1 but he’d only been there a few days).

Not just good, but REALLY GOOD… like top half of the league good. Arizona is going to have a controversy on their hands

There are already whispers of a QB controversy. I've been watching a lot of the Arizona sports podcasts and they pretty much have conceded Dobbs should be a starter somewhere if not in Arizona. If he wins a couple of games in a row there will be momentum to not rock the boat and change QBs.

He's currently 8th in QBR while having played the 49ers and Cowboys who both have elite defenses. How many other QBs do you think could perform like he did against those defenses? Especially without any elite receivers or tight ends to throw to?

Neither of us can predict what the Cardinals are gonna do in the future with regard to the QB situation thus its foolish to speculate. All we know is he's the starter right now and he's producing at a top 10 level while facing some of the tougher defenses in the league. I'd say that's a reason to be optimistic about Josh rather than trying to be pessimistic.
I'm not trying to be pessimistic at all. He is playing extremely well. But until he starts getting more media coverage, he is not going to be one of the top 3 QBs in the Pro Bowl. Many people don't even know who he is yet. The win at Dallas got him more exposure, but not as much as he deserves.
I would LOVE Dobbs to be a Pro Bowl QB, I'm just not willing to crown him that after 4 games. He is doing extremely well though and showing what he can do when given more than a few plays to show what he can do.

We're less than a quarter into the season. It's called projecting. Sure he's not in the Pro Bowl conversation right now but what if the Cardinals rip of a few wins in a row and are in playoff contention late into that year? If he does that while maintaining his current production then he will be in the conversation.

In his division I doubt they will be a playoff team. That is prob the toughest in the NFC if not the NFL

Maybe right now he is in the top third, but to say he is better than 2/3 of the QBs in the NFL is a reach

"Joshua Dobbs may be the first player you think about here, given his ability to thrive in Drew Petzing’s offense, which is showing the NFL universe he can be more than just an ordinary backup quarterback.

Dobbs has yet to throw a pick this season, and his 99.4 passer rating is currently 10th in the league among qualifying quarterbacks. Through four games, Dobbs’ rating is better than that of Dak Prescott’s, Jalen Hurts’, Patrick Mahomes’, Trevor Lawrence’s, and DeShaun Watson’s. "

He's playing great and I love it.

About half the league has QBs I wouldn’t trust as my franchise QB so 1/4 is definitely fair.
Then there’s no reason he shouldn’t be starting for someone. He appears to be getting a legit opportunity and taking full advantage to prove his worth. Let’s all hope one or more franchises see his value and he continues to get opportunities to play. Always nice to see good things happen for good guys!

Think it's more about finding a system where he fits. Someone else said it's like this job was made for him. His coach's words, (paraphrase) He gives you exactly what you ask for without the mistakes.
Arizona could be the right situation

But this is also the first true opportunity he's ever had to be a starter. It would be one thing if Dobbs was like Baker Mayfield. A guy who flamed out at multiple other situations and now finally finds success. But Dobbs has never been given a chance to show what he can do in the regular season. I would argue that Dobbs could have been a success at each of his other spots if he was given a genuine opportunity.

I would take him back on the Titans in a heartbeat.
