I remember being so frustrated with Casey Clausen that by the time Rick Clausen left, I was actually happy when Jimmy committed elsewhere.

I wouldn't categorize him as great.

That's because Rick was a part of the worst season UT had seen in almost 20 years. Casey was a gamer. Casey led wins against Notre Dame, Miami, Florida 2x and was one game away from playing in a national championship game.

Clausen was the best road QB we ever had and a victim of expectations. That said, I put him just behind Tee during that era.
